LGO ~ Back to School Review & The Kitchen

Hello my readers! How was your weekend? Mine was a much needed catch up session! I have a lot of plans for the blog this week as well as the rest of the month and I was able to get them all ironed out. Yay! I love it when things work out like you want!

I have a lot planned for today, but first we’ll start off with a review of last week and going back to school and all that fun that goes along with it.

I told you I had a project I was working on for the boys and their chores for before and after school. I was able to finish that up and I will be blogging about it more in depth on Wednesday. For now, here’s a glimpse to hold you over. I had fun making these cute little chore charts!

Cute, right? I can’t wait for you to see the finished versions!

Other than making these charts I didn’t do much else. I had a lot of photography work I was finishing up so I did get that all done. That’s really good! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hate it when I don’t get to craft for at least a little bit each day, but that’s what happens for a stay at home mom.

I did a lot of catch up cleaning last week, I swept and mopped the kitchen floor really good on Thursday. It really needed it too! The floor was so dirty I had to use 2 different swiffer pads to mop with! (Yeah, I’m a swiffer mom. It’s so much easier than having to fill a bucket and wait a whole hour or more for the kitchen floor to dry. I like things to be quick! That way I actually do them.) I folded ALL the laundry and put it away! Woohoo! That is a huge accomplishment in and of itself! I always feel So GOOD knowing all the laundry is folded and tucked away in drawers or hanging in closets neatly. Am I weird? I am, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok, now onto the second half of today’s post, Organizing the Kitchen! I recently bought a book for my kindle called 31 Days to Clean – Having a Martha Home the Mary Way. It’s kinda pricey, $4.99, but I really wanted to get some help with this and the book has some good reviews so I caved and bought it.

Anyway, this week I have decided to start reading and participating in each daily challenge. I’m going to kind of tweak it a little bit to fit my lifestyle and needs, but for the most part I will be following the book each day.

Day 1 is kind ofย  reflection day. Today I will be thinking about why I want to clean and organize my house and then create a mission statement to reflect these reasons. Of course I will make it pretty and frame it. I think I’m going to use my Silhouette Sketch Pens and a cute new frame I got from Pick Your Plum a bit ago. I’ve been trying to figure out what to put in the frame so this will be perfect! ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 2 – Tuesday – Clean out both refrigerators. (We have one inside the house and outside in the garage. Our kitchen isn’t big enough to upgrade to a bigger Fridge so we just got a new cheap one and put it outside. It works for us now, but we’re hoping to get a bigger house someday with a bigger kitchen.)

Day 3 – Wednesday – Dust top of refrigerator, cabinets, and shelves. Clean the outside of drawers and cabinets and appliances. (My cabinets and appliances REALLY need a good cleaning!)

Day 4 – Thursday – Clean the oven and microwave, inside and out. Wash windows and clean blinds.(I’mย  including Day 5 on this day because I most likely won’t clean on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. I want to stay on top of this challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 6 – Friday – Clean out and organize kitchen cabinets.

I will also keep up with my original daily chores of cleaning the house like vacuuming, sweep & mop kitchen, laundry and cleaning the bathrooms. Woohoo! I CAN do it! ๐Ÿ™‚

What is on your agenda to organize and clean this week? Do you want to do this challenge with me? I’d love for you to follow along and share your experience with us!!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great week! Come back tomorrow, I have a new post series starting and some life goals to share. I can’t wait!! ๐Ÿ™‚
