A Blog Focus Change

Hello everyone! The last week has been so crazy busy with Valentine’s Day and me trying to finish projects that I SWORE I would finish even before February started and that Never happened, of course. I haven’t even started my St. Patrick’s day crafts yet and I wanted to be all finished with them by now so I could get them all blogged before the end of February.

And this has been causing me a lot of stress lately. I haven’t really ENJOYED crafting for a long time because everything is on a time schedule. I’m not doing it for fun anymore. I’m doing it to show to the whole world and to have them tell me how cute everything I make is. And that’s fine, it’s nice to have people tell you what you make is pretty or cute. It makes me feel good, but when it’s interfering with my joy of doing the crafts, I think it’s time to refocus and reevaluate why I’m really doing this.

I absolutely LOVE blogging! It’s so fun! Blogging about crafts that I make is even more amazing and satisfying for me, but I am going to relax. A LOT! I have a family blog that I don’t really keep up with because of this craft blog and I would really like to get back to blogging about family stuff again. I started my family blog first because I’m behind in my scrapbooking and I wanted to use it as a journal so I could remember events that happen in our lives. Now I’m lucky if I blog major events in our family. So, I’m going to slow down.

If you’ve been a round for at least a year or so, you know that last year I had a sewing challenge for myself. I did a lot of sewing last year and I loved it. I guess you could call it the year of sewing. Well, this year I am going to make it the year of scrapbooking. I know I’ve mentioned before that I am behind on my scrapbooking and I want to catch up this year. And I have a challenge for myself that I want to scrapbook up to my birthday in 2008 by my birthday of this year (April 29th). Right now I’m stuck in Sept. 2007 so, I have my work cut out for me if I want to hit my goal!! For this reason, and the reason’s above, I’m going to stop blogging so much and focus on my scrapbooking.

I’ve also recently started watching scrapbook videos on YouTube and I want to get into making my own process videos and growing up my subscriber following on there. Want to come over and see the few videos I have up there now? I’d love for you to subscribe and tell your friends all about it.

I will still blog every now and then, whenever I have the time, but I’m not going to stick to a rigorous schedule like I’ve been trying to do this year so far. Whenever I post a video on YouTube I will more than likely come and post about it here too. I hope you’ll watch them and let me know what you love and don’t love about them!

And even though I will be focusing on scrapbooking this year, I will do other crafting as well. I love all types of crafting and I don’t want to stop! I just need to take a break from sharing every single thing I make, you know?

I might still do my monday organizing posts too. I was going to write one up for today, but the boys’ closet only stayed clean for about a day and I forgot to take pictures when I finished. *SIGH* I will be moving onto my craft room though, because I want to start getting my mojo back for scrapbooking and I really can’t concentrate on that with such a messy room!! I’ll show pictures of my progress, definitely!

Thanks for stopping by! Come on over to my YouTube channel to see what I’ve been up to. My channel is called Crafty Meggy, it’s the one with the picture, not the other one. I created 2 accounts somehow and I don’t want to mess with deleting the other one because I accidentally deleted my account a month ago that I kept all my family videos on. UGH! So, I’m not messing with that again!!

I hope you’re having a great Presidents Day!

  1. Hello,

Just wanted to say that I feel your pain. Ive been having the same dilemma. I just think once it stops being fun then its not worth doing anymore. I try to post at least a few days a week. Blogging is a lot more time consuming than most people think and like you I am a SHAM of three as well. Love you blog though and look forward to reading more.
