Hello my scrappy friends! I am back today with a fun scrappy challenge for you!! If you don’t already know, I have a group on facebook that I host with Roni Sue Scrapper called Scrappy Challenges and we like to do fun things to challenge us while scrapbooking. It’s been a while since we did a challenge so last week we picked one out and all scrapbooked using it. This time around Jennifer challenged us to scrapbook using a holiday themed collection without a holiday photo or a holiday photo with a non themed holiday collection. I chose to do the latter and I had so much fun using the newish Illustrated Faith You Are Loved collection.
This is the layout I ended up making. I really like how it turned out! This collection is super fun and has really bright and lovely colors.
The embellishments I used were from the Clique Kits December 2016 kit. I really love this kit that they put together!!
These acetate arrows were so cute, I just had to include them!!
I did a little bit of journaling about the photos and I really was happy with how I didn’t go over board with that. I have a tendancy to ramble on with my journaling, but this just flowed really well.
My title was simple and very straight forward. Sometimes, those are just the best title, at least in my opinion!
You can watch my process video below:
I hope you have a wonderful and scrappy week! Make sure to come on over to the facebook group to check out all the other layouts!
Hello scrappy friends!! I hope you’re having a great week! This layout was for a Scrappy Challenge. We used a Bingo Board that Kake found online and we had to pick out 5 of the items in a column or row.
I did the very last row down the right side: Scraplift, Computer journaling, paint, chipboard letters, and buttons. I am excited that I actually used all 5 of them!
I decided to go to pinterest and pick a layout to use. This one is by Debbie Hodge.
This is the layout I made. It’s not my favorite I’ve ever made, but I really like how it turned out! I used ‘I Lilac You’ Dazzlerz from Shimmerz Paints that I got from Spiegelmom Scraps. You need to check out her store if you haven’t already! Use the code Megan15 to get 15% off your total purchase!
For the title I wanted to make sure I used this alpha, but it wouldn’t fit across the layout very well. If you watch the video below you’ll see my husband as he helps me figure out how to fit it on the layout at an angle like you see here.
I love these flowers and I also used a sequin mix from Spiegelmom Scraps called ‘Hot Right Now’.
For a sub title I used Tim Holtz little tile alphas. They worked perfect right next to the bottom photo.
I added another cluster of flowers, buttons and sequins on the right side of the photos.
And the journaling worked out perfect in the bottom left corner.
You can watch the process video below:
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great scrappy week!!
Hello scrapbookers!! I am back again tonight with a layout that I made for my challenge group on Facebook called Scrappy Challenges. If you aren’t already a member come on over and join us! We would love to have you and see what you create with our challenges!! You can find the group here on Facebook.
So, let’s get started!! I had a 4×4 photo of all my scrappy stuff that I brought to the retreat that I went to in the middle of April and since I LOVE scrapbooking and I loved going to the retreat, which was my first one ever, I knew immediately that was the picture I was going to use for this challenge. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with the layout or the picture so I decided to go to pinterest and find THE perfect layout to scraplift. I found it and I am so happy that I did!
This was a layout on the Studio Calico blog from way back in 2013 so the link doesn’t go to the post, but at least you have an idea of what the layout looks like.
This is the layout I made and I am so in LOVE!!! I used the Crate Paper Craft Market collection, mainly, which is one of my all time favorite collections! I also used gold Thickers from American Crafts called ‘Daiquiri’.
I usually use a scraplifted layout as a jumping off point and I twist it and tweak it to be more my style. This layout was already amazing and I didn’t want to change a single thing about it so I stuck to it!
I chose the title ‘all packed and ready to go’ and the placement of it was so easy I didn’t have to think about where to put it at all. It fit perfectly in the area right next to the banners and washi tape. The pink alpha I used for the word ‘and’ was pretty much the same color as the paper I put it on so I decided to use the Close to my Heart Smoothie ink that I was inking the edges of all the papers with and dab it onto the area around it.
I really love the alpha on this layout! It’s probably one of my favorite things about it.
The layered ‘xoxo’ tag and the flower give the layout a little bit more dimension and interest. I really like how the flower is hanging off the side of the layout. It’s a simple little cluster and adds a needed girly touch.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I hope you had a great Monday! If you’d like to watch my process while making this layout you can view it on YouTube or below:
Hello scrappy friends! It’s been a little while since I’ve been on my blog so I wanted to jump on and share a layout I made this past week for my weekely Sunday challenge with some scrapbooking friends.
We thought it would be fun to challenge ourselves to make a layout in 15 minutes and I actually almost did it!! I went over by a minute or two and I’m so excited I was so close! I’ve participate in this kind of a challenge quite a few times and I’ve never hit the 15 minute mark, ever!
You can find my process video below:
My idea with this challenge was to use up a bunch of scraps I’ve had floating around my scrap desk in the last month and I used up a lot of them! I save all of my branding strips and they were really getting on my nerves having them all tossed around my desk so I use up a few of them! Woohoo! Now I just need to do a layout with the rest of them and I’ll be all set. I don’t know why I have to save these small scraps, but I do.
I hope you enjoyed watching my process as I scrapped my layout in 15+ minutes! It was a little stressful, as it always is, but it’s always a fun challenge as well. I wish I had used spray mist instead of the gelatos because I didn’t quite have the time to spend making the gelatos look like I wanted them to in the end. I guess the next time I do this challenge I will know and learn from my mistake…. maybe! 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I hope you have a wonderful week! I’ll be back tomorrow with a new homemade kit share for you all, so don’t miss that!
Hello scrapbookers and crafters! I am here today to share a layout I made using a challenge from 2 different groups on Facebook. My friends and I from our Scrappy Challenges group decided to use stickers on a layout for today’s challenge and the design team members from Victoria Marie’s Facebook group also challenges us to use stickers on a layout. They specifically wanted us to use Crate Paper stickers, which I don’t have much of, but I do have the Craft Market stickers as well as a lot of the collection. I haven’t used much of this collection so I was excited to have a reason to use it!
I figured out what picture I wanted to use and I got to work. You can find the process video below as well as some close up photos.
I think this collection is still one of my absolute favorites from Crate Paper!! I found this photo of Brynnan when he was about 2 years old and just had to use it. This photo was taken on a morning where I exhibited a whole LOT of patience and I was very proud of myself! Brynnan had decided to pour himself his cereal that morning and of course spilled it all over the table. Instead of getting mad and yelling at him I grabbed the camera and took a bunch of photos.
I added some circles to the side and top of the layout and put some stickers from the collection in those clusters.
I really like this little cluster under the photo with the journaling and the date.
I love the ephemera from this collection and had fun sticking it in behind the layers.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some circles from the 6×6 pad and decided they would be a nice addition to this layout.
Thanks for stopping by today!! I’ll be back tomorrow with another scrapbook layout.
Happy Valentine’s Day, a day late!! I hope you all had a great day filled with love!!
I wanted to jump on and share my Scrappy Challenge layout for the week. We wanted to work with the Valentine’s Day theme in mind because of the day that we celebrated this past Sunday. My husband and I don’t really make a big deal about Vday, so I naturally decided to scrapbook a photo of my kids and tell a non Valentine’s day story instead.
Here’s the process video:
And here are some photos of the layout:
I made the background using a heart doily I bought from Michael’s last year after Valentine’s day. You can watch the video where I make this background here. The video is a product review for Tombow Mono Removable Adhesive and I used it to make the background.
The photo on the right is of my oldest son at 3 years old and the left photo is of me when I was about 3 years old. I really love both of these photos. They showcase how much alike Jonas and I look. I’m so glad I finally got this story down on a layout!
The collection I used was actually a digital kit I bought from ClaudiavanRDesigns on Etsy. It is gorgeous and I am so glad I bought it!!
Well, that’s my layout for this weeks challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’re having a good week so far!!
Hello and welcome to another Scrappy Challenge! This past week we picked a layout we all liked and decided to scraplift it. I apollogize I am a bit behind on my blogging, but I’m trying to catch up!
This is the layout we decided to scraplift. I really loved the colors and the different clusters around the photo.
I found this layout on Pinterest here. Isn’t it just gorgeous?!!! I think I was just so baffled by how gorgeous it was that it threw me off. My page didn’t turn out anywhere near as pretty as this layout, but it’s ok. I still like my page.
You can find my process video here:
And here are a few close up photos of my layout:
What I like most about this layout is the painting I did on the background and the twine that I bunched up and stuck under the layers. The title is also a lot of fun.
I really like how the paint in the background turned out and the yellow twine is absolutely my favorite part of this whole layout!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! If you’d like to come join our group on facebook you can find it here. We look forward to seeing what you create using our challenges for inspiration!
Hello and welcome back on this Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was busy with lots of scrapbooking and laundry.
Let’s jump right into the layout spread I’m sharing with you today.
You can find my process video below:
And here are some photos and close ups.
For this layout I decided to use 2 challenges. The first one was for my Scrappy Challenges group. This week we are challenging you to pick a sketch and scrap a layout. This is the sketch that I picked to use, which was actually a sketch I found through the Crafty Maven Getaway channel.
I realized after taking the photos that I was missing an ‘s’!! I knew I wasn’t the most observant person but holy cow!! That’s so bad I didn’t realize it was gone in this photo!! Haha
I used a Silhouette cut file from their design store to make an arrow to point out the ball that my son had hit. It wasn’t really obvious so I wanted to make sure it was pointed out in the photo.
I wanted to make sure there was a cluster up in the left hand corner to balance the whole page.
For the pocket page I decided to stick with the photos as the main focus. I used a 4×6 card from a Becky Higgins Project Life Kit for the journaling/title card.
I did a little bit of journaling on the bottom left pocket, but I wanted to make sure you knew what was going on in each photo so I used white and black Teresa Collins alpha stickers to do some simple journaling on top of the photos.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
Hello scrappers! I hope you had a great weekend! I spent a lot of time scrapbooking, for once!! I got a ton done and I’m so excited to share this layout with you that I finished yesterday. So, let’s just jump right in!!
You can find my process video below:
Here are some close up photos of the layout:
I used up a lot of bigger scraps, which felt awesome!! I don’t know about you, but I have TONS of scraps and it is so exciting when I use up even the smallest ones. This photo is of my youngest in the summer of 2014. He told me he wanted to play T-ball, so I signed him up and then he ended up not liking it. I decided to use the ‘Why we love you’ cut file I made on my Silhouette Cameo because this boy doesn’t care what anyone thinks and I love that about him. I also journaled a little bit about how he didn’t like T-ball, but I still made him finish the season and how I often had to be next to him to encourage him along.
I felt like the blue pattern paper banners at the top of the layout weren’t standing out enough so I outlined them with a thin black line. I did the same thing to all the layers under the photo.
I just love this photo!
Even though the cut file doesn’t go with the journaling 100% I really am glad I used.I’m happy with how this layout turned out. My favorite part is the hearts on the background! I love using mixed media products to get these great results!
Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you have a wonderful scrappy week!
Hello crafty friends!! I hope you’re having a great day so far! I am excited to share this layout with me. It is dear to my heart…. we had to put down our black lab, Sirius, in March of 2015. It was a REALLY hard decision to make and follow through with, but it was for the best.
Anyway, I found a layout on Pinterest that I really liked and thought it would be fun to add some stitching to it.
I really loved how simple this layout is! I changed it up a little bit to work for me and this is the layout I came up with:
This photo was taken back in August of 2014. My middle son had just been baptized and we were outside taking pictures. He really wanted to take some photos of me so I let him. My dog, Sirius, wanted to be in them too. I’m so glad I got these photos. We had to put Sirius down in March 2015, unfortunately, and I really cherish these photos now!!
I really love the texture that the stitching adds to this layout. It was a little hard to maneuver the 12×12 page around my sewing machine, but I got it done and really love the result. I used the January Clique Kits kit called Alegria and I really love all the extra bits that came along with it. the hello wood veneer came in the kit and fit perfectly with this layout. I used the big red Alpha that came in the kit as well and decided to do my stitching over top of it. I love the look it gives.
Here’s a close up of the banners at the top of the layout. I used some blue and yellow sequins in each one of the banners.
