Scrapbook all the memories!

In Your Pocket Tuesday at The Crafty Maven Getaway

Hello, Hello again my friends!! I am back with another Pocket style scrapbook page for the Crafty Maven Youtube channel. You can find the process video here and also a few photos below.

I used a paper from the Amy Tangerine Oh Happy Life collection called ’11 am’. I also used the Amy Tangerine ‘Finders Keepers’ ephemera.

I wanted to keep the embellishing simple, but cute. I used the same washi tape throughout the whole pocket page and the same enamel dots with a few ephemera pieces from the pack. The enamel dots I used are from Close to my Heart in Aqua.

I loved this cute little star, but since it was acetate glue would show through it so I decided to staple it onto the photo. I just used an every day stapler. Nothing fancy here at Crafty Meggy headquarters! lol

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Make sure to come on over to the Crafty Maven Channel to watch my process video!

The Crafty Maven Getaway National Scrapbook Day YouTube Hop: My Scrap Space On The Go

Hello again my crafty and scrappy friends!! I am back with what I think is the last post of the day!! This weekend has been super busy and I never got a chance to get these blog posts up so I am bombarding you with them today.

Saturday, May 7th was (inter)National Scrapbook Day and some of the members of the Crafty Maven Getaway Design Team did a little YouTube hop. Hannah challenged us to make layouts based on scrapbooking. Since I recently went on a scrapbook retreat I immediately knew I was going to scrapbook the pictures I took of my little space at the retreat.

While I was at the retreat I won a CUTE collection from the Close to my Heart consultant hosting the retreat called “Charlotte”. I don’t think it’s available anymore, unfortunately, because if it was I would totally go buy more of it!! I absolutely LOVED playing with this collection!! I had already used some of it, but decided to use up some more to make this layout. I’m so glad I did!

This is my finished layout and I absolutely LOVE it!! I know it’s not very embellishment heavy, but I am really not a big embellisher in the first place so it worked out well.

I used a kraft doily from my stash to add a little more texture and interest to the bottom of the layout.

I also put a doily up in the top right hand corner along with a few more embellishements. I got the pink scissors from an old Amy Tangerine sticker book and it worked perfect on this layout! The pink was a little bit more bright than the papers in the collection, but it didn’t bother me. I knew that this would probably be one of the only times I’d need pink scissors on a layout so I was ok using it up.

The cute little ‘sweet’ embellishment is from the Maggie Holmes ‘Shine’ collection, which I absolutely LOVE!! I added a few enamel dots to the cluster and it was done.

For the journaling I used another sticker from that same Amy Tangerine sticker sheet that the scissors came from. I kept the journaling straight and to the point. I really didn’t need to say a whole lot. I used some stickers from a Close to my Heart puffy sticker collection as well as a sticker piece from those 3D embellishments like the one above.

This ‘LOVE’ card was a 3×4 cut apart sheet of paper that I just cute down to be more focused on the word.

Here you can see the title at a closer view with the photos and the clusters. I did actually change up the way the title looks after I took these photos. I just really didn’t like having the word ‘Scrap’ and ‘Space’ off set like I have them here. I moved them both over and now they’re right on top of each other.

You can watch the process video below or find it HERE on my YouTube channel.

Victoria Marie NSD 2016 Online Crop!!

Hello scrappy friends!! This past weekend has been so super fun and crazy!! I was excited to be able to participate behind the scenes in the first ever Victoria Marie/Crafty Maven Getaway Online crop for this fun scrapbooking celebration.

On Friday I kicked off the celebration with a fun challenge to use Multiple photos on a layout. You can still participate to win this fun prize pack I will send one lucky winner!!

Go to the facebook group HERE and search for my multi photo challenge. You need to use at least 2 photos, but I’d really like to challenge you to use 3 or more! I’m really big on using more than one photo on my layouts because I take a ton of photos. If I only scrapbook one photo on a layout all the time I’d have a million photo albums, no joke!!

This is the layout I created for this challenge. I used the February Hip Kit which I absolutely LOVED! I also used some Aqua Shimmer Trim from Close to my Heart which you can find here.

I kept this layout super simple, which is always good to do when you have more than one photo because that’s a lot going on if you have  a lot of photos and then a lot of embellishing and other things on the layout as well. I am a super simple scrapbooker in the first place, but this layout was even more simple than noremal. I didn’t do any inking on paper edges or misting on the page, which is totally unheard of for me! lol

I wanted the main focus to be these adorable photos of my two oldest boys playing with their uncle Matt. The top photo is one of my favorites. My brother was trying to tickle Brynnan so he hid behind the net on the basketball court. Uncle Matt was too smart for that trick and tickeled him through the net. LOVE!! The one of Jonas, my oldest with the camera, is just so perfect! He had gotten that camera for Christmas 7 months before this and he loved taking photos with it! I had to capture that as well.

I kept the journaling simple as well. I think the pictures really tell most of the story and that’s what I love about this layout.

You can find my process video below or on my YouTube channel here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! If you want to join in on any of the challenges from this past weekend come one over and play along!! We’d love to have you! The deadline to win the prizes is tonight at midnight EST. Post a photo of your layouts in the comments of the challenge.

Sketch It Up Thursday at The Crafty Maven Getaway

Hello scrappy friends!! I am back today with a layout I made for the Crafty Maven Getaway YouTube Design Team. I have been on the design team since July 2015 and have been having a ton of fun!

We recently had a design team call and have added some new ladies to the team and also said good bye to some. You can find more information on the Crafty Maven Getaway Blog.

This week we are doing a throwback to Two Peas in a Bucket celebration on our channel. We are all posting layouts we’ve made that have been inspired by different Garden Girls. If you’ve never heard of Two Peas in a bucket it was an online store/ forum/ gallery for crafty fun! It has now since gone out of business, but they do have a YouTube channel where you can find loads of inspiration from their past design team members who were called the “Garden Girls”.

I chose to get my inspiration for my layout from Jen Gallacher. Thursday is our sketch day at the Crafty Maven so I picked out one of her Two Peas videos that features a sketch and got to work making my layout.

Here are a few sneak peeks of my layout.

Head on over to the Crafty Maven blog to find more photos of my layout as well as the link to the video…. or just click here.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you’re having a wonderful Thursday!!

The Crafty Maven Getaway

Hello scrappy friends!! I am back with a few layouts that I have made over the past few months for the Crafty Maven Design Team. If you haven’t heard of The Crafty Maven Getaway go on over to the YouTube channel!! There are about 40 designers and we all take turns posting a new video each day. It’s really awesome and I have been loving being on the team!! I LOVE being able to go to one channel and get so much different inspiration.

Anyway, here are the layouts and process videos that I have posted on the channel so far:

This was my very first layout I made for the Design Team. I used a layout made by Adele, who is Inkie Quill on YouTube. You can find her video here.

I really love how this layout turned out!! I’m glad I chose Adele’s layout to scraplift! I used the June Clique Kits kit, which was the Crate Paper Journey collection. I absolutely adored that collection!! It was so much fun to play with!

This is the second layout I made for the design team. This one is also a scraplift. I found this image of a layout someone made on one of the scrapbooking facebook groups:

Isn’t it just gorgeous?!! I knew I wanted to scraplift it immediately so I ran it by my partner for that day, which was Danielle, who is Banning Lane on YouTube and she loved it too. This is what I came up with:

My 3rd layout was a very last minute one, so it wasn’t the best layout ever, but I was up for a Free Flow Wednesday video, which is basically do a layout that is you. So this is the layout I made:

I used the July Clique kit for this layout. The minute I saw this flamingo acetate sheet was in the kit I KNEW I was going to use it on this layout!! I had taken this photo of my husband and our youngest son at our most recent family trip to the zoo back in June of this year. I love the photo and LOVED using the acetate sheet as part of the background.

I made a little mini album for another project for the channel. It was also a very last minute video so I didn’t get to post the whole process of making the album. It took about 2 hours to make it and I really love how it turned out. You can see the beginning of the album before I start making it and then I will do a flip through at the end.

This is the cover of the album. I made it for my cousin for a Christmas present.

I used a glassine bag I’d gotten in a Studio Calico kit last year.

I kept most of the pages really simple. I didn’t want it to be too bulky or for anything to fall off.

This was on of my favorite pages. I LOVE the photo and the banners are my favorite embellishment.

And this one is another one of my favorite pages.

This is the very last page of the album. I wanted to keep it plain and simple, but also sum up the whole album. It was all about his family, so the title for the last page came easily.

Hannah, the founder of the Crafty Maven Getaway channel and a really good friend, asked me to do an art journal video so, I told her yes and I made my very first, big art journal page. I had dabbled a little bit in a small journal album, but nothing I would really call art journaling. It was more like playing with no direction. For this art journal page I had direction and it was so much fun!!!

I started out with a scripture and the idea to use spray mists and watercolors and this is what I came out with. I absolutely LOVE it!! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the words that I wanted emphasized and I also printed out and cut the flowers with it as well. The girl is a gorgeous stamp that I bought from Sandra, who is ohsnapgonzo on YouTube. It’s made by Prima from the Bloom Collection by Jamie Dougherty. The name of the stamp is called instachick.

I think the flowers are my favorite part of the whole page!! Along with the background! I used my new Shinhan Touch markers that I bought from Close to my Heart. They were a lot of fun to play with and I can’t wait to keep using them!

That was the last project I made for the channel. I am up again next week on Wednesday and Thursday so come back then to see the layouts I make for those days!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great crafty week!
