It seems that every blog or website I got to these days always has Christmas crafts being displayed. Am I the only one that’s so caught up in everything else that I haven’t had time to make any Christmas crafts? I felt like it so I finally decided to put an end to it yesterday and made up the boys’ teacher gifts I’ll have them give out next week. I got the idea from Kaysi, over at Keeping it Simple. She made her own version of this craft for her kids’ teachers and I thought it was so cute! Not to mention CHEAP!!! I like cheap!
I had already bought the soap while I was at JoAnn’s this weekend, so I peeled off the sticker on the back. I tried peeling off the front sticker on 2 of the bottles, but that didn’t go so well so I left the third one in tact:)
Thank goodness for goo gone, right? I have the 2 on the left sitting in a big tupperware soaking. Hopefully it will all come off!
I decided to use the other side for the snowman. I got to work in Silhouette looking for a snowman. I found one in no time and pulled him apart to sort out the colors and parts. I have black and white vinyl, but no orange or brown so I had to compromise on those parts a little.
I used cardstock and my Xyron sticker maker to make the noses and arms.
And voila! Here they are all done! What do you think? I LOVE them!:)
I brushed on some Mod Podge to make sure everything stayed down where it was.
Do you like the stray mouth dot? LOL The vinyl was very easy to move around on itself so I’m glad I used the mod podge to keep it in place.
I printed off Kaysi’s cute little phrase she made up. She has it as a free printable on her blog. I didn’t feel like cutting out 3 circles and I don’t have any punches, BUT I DO have a Silhouette Cameo!!! So, of course I found a scalloped circle frame and did a print and cut version of Kaysi’s printable.
I love the results! It was good to work with my Silhouette again! It’s been a while since I’ve used it and I think I was having withdrawals. I’m glad I decided to sit down and do this craft yesterday. It was a lot of fun and it didn’t take much time, maybe an hour.
What are you making/giving to your kids’ teachers for Christmas? Do you do the same thing every year? I did soap last year too, but it was a different saying. I can’t even remember what it was…
Anyway, thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great day!!
Those are super cute! You are fast!
You are so great about remembering teacher gifts. I’m horrible. Although Sadie and I threw something together for her teacher’s birthday a couple of days ago. (One of the reasons I feel so crummy today.)
Cute Meg!
[…] I LOVE how they turned out!! And they were fun to make. You can see how I made them in this post. […]
