Hi everyone! This post is a little late, but at least it’s here now! 🙂 This week is going to be a busy one with cleaning and organizing! Since I hurt my shoulder last week I wasn’t able to do all the cleaning I had planned. I am feeling 100% better now so I will have nothing to keep me back this week! Yay!
So, I’ll get right down to it. I’m keeping the same cleaning challenges as I had up last week, with a few minor changes changes.
Ok, last week I talked about a new cleaning and organizing book that I bought recently. It’s called 31 Days to Clean: Having a Martha House the Mary Way. I love how it is laid out. It has a daily reading chapter, as the book begins it’s very minimal reading, 1-2 pages, then you get a Mary Challenge, which helps you enjoy and think about what you’re doing as you clean. I makes you get involved with your life and not just the cleaning part. Then there’s a Martha Challenge which is the actual cleaning chore.
I’ve flipped through the whole book and the author goes through the whole house, but what I would really like to do is spend more time in the bedrooms. My boys’ rooms are DIRTY!! I will most likely have to spend at least a whole week in that room and closer to 2 weeks.
My main goal for this week is to come up with a motto. I’m horrible at coming up with fun catch phrases or something to motivate me, but I really want to do it this time around. I want to hang it on my wall and be proud of my cleaning motto. So, I have started out by thinking about all the reasons I want to clean:
1. I feel good when my home is clean.
2. It makes everyone in my home happier when it is clean.
3. My day seems to go smoother when I clean.
4. I won’t feel embarrasses when people come over.
Now I just need to put these all together to make a mission statement. I’m hoping to share that with you next Monday.
Day 2 – Tuesday – Clean inside refrigerator. (We have one inside the house and outside in the garage. Our kitchen isn’t big enough to upgrade to a bigger Fridge so we just got a new cheap one and put it outside. It works for us now, but we’re hoping to get a bigger house someday with a bigger kitchen.)
Day 3 – Wednesday – Clean the fridge in the garage. Clean the outside of drawers and cabinets and appliances. (My cabinets and appliances REALLY need a good cleaning!) The first part of the Day 3 challenge is to Dust the top of the fridge, cabinets and shelves, but I actually did this one last week on Friday! Yay! so, I’m taking this extra day to clean the extra fridge that the book wasn’t planning on me having:)
Day 4 – Thursday – Clean the oven and microwave, inside and out. Wash windows and clean blinds.(I’m including Day 5 on this day because I most likely won’t clean on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. I want to stay on top of this challenge!
Day 6 – Friday – Clean out and organize kitchen cabinets.
So, that’s my plan for the week. I’m ready to do it all now, I just hope I can keep this mojo tomorrow and the rest of the days!! I’m starting a new fitness workout in the mornings and I’m hoping that will keep me energized to get it all done! I know it worked today! I got up at 5:30, worked out for 30 minutes, showered, got the boys ready and off to school and started cleaning! 🙂 It was a good day and I feel amazing, even now at 9:06pm. I did take a little siesta at about 1:30, but other than that I’ve been going strong! It’s just amazing to me!!
Well, I have some crafting I need to get done so I will leave you until tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you had a great Monday!
