Do you remember the ribbon storage shelf I made out of our old medicine cabinet last year? I was SO proud of it!! It was all my idea to use the medicine cabinet. I don’t often come up with projects all on my own so this was exciting for me! 🙂
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to make another one like it because I still have a whole box full of ribbon and some on top of the old shelf. I hate that I have a random box of ribbon somewhere far away from my ribbon shelf so when I found this little shelf at the thrift store I was SO. EXCITED. It would work PERFECT as my second ribbon shelf and it was only $1.50!! Woohoo! (I really LOVE shopping at the thrift store!! I find AMAZING deals every time I go in!:) It’s my new passion.)
So, I bought it and fixed it up. I placed it next to the other ribbon storage shelf on my scrapbooking desk and it looks great, in my humble opinion!! 🙂
What do you think? This is what it started out as:
It had spider webs and dust all over the inside, I don’t know if you can see it from the photo. I had to clean it out really good before I sanded it. I didn’t end up sanding it all down because it was REALLY cheap and I thought it was going to fall apart!! lol
This is what it looked like before I started painting. And I actually had my kids help me paint it so I don’t have any pictures of the process because I was so afraid of them spraying the camera or me or themselves. I gave them my full attention!
I love how it looks on my desk and I feel so much more clean with all the ribbons in their places and not spilling out everywhere! Yay!!
Well, thanks for stoppuing by today! I hope you’re having a great day! I’ll be back on Friday with a big surprise, something you probably forgot I even did!! 🙂 I can’t wait to show you! See you then!
Dude, will you make one of these for my birthday next year? You’ve seen my ribbon box. What a mess.
Haha, yes! I have been thinking about making you one since I made my first one. 🙂
Wow! What a transformation! And such a clever way to store ribbon, too! Thanks so much for sharing this at Get Your DIY On! Hope to see you on Sunday with your spray paint projects! Have a wonderful day!
