Candy Cane Teacher Gift Idea with Free Printable

Hello friends!! I’m back today with another easy Teacher gift idea for Valentine’s day. If you’ve been around for a while with me, you might remember this post from last year that was a COMPLETE FAIL!! It actually makes me laugh when I go back and look at the photos.

I got the idea from pinterest and I love Brandy’s blog. Her post is HERE.

Anyway, this year I had left over candy canes from Christmas that WERE NOT broken, which was my problem last year. I only had broken ones last year and I thought I could just “glue” them together after they came out of the oven. I learned that DID NOT work!

This year I had more success and I involved my 3 year old, which was fun (kind of:) haha).

First off, turn on your oven to 250 degrees and put wax paper down on your cookie sheet.

Only use PERFECT candy canes, that is my one tip, and it’s a big one!! This will not work if you have broken candy canes! lol

Take the plastic off of the candy canes and place them on the cookie sheet so they look like hearts.

Love these fun moments! I put the candy canes in the oven for 10 minutes and Tini immediately smashed his face against the glass.

And then the next ten minutes looked like this, fun times waiting with a 3 year old.

This is what they looked like when they came out of the oven.

I tried to fix the one on the right because the candy cane on the left side of the heart kind of melted together too much at the top. Tini wanted to help with the other one.

Then I made this printable to go along with the heart. I punched a hole and tied the tag on with some bakers twine.

Well, thanks for stoppin by today! I hope this post gives you something fun to do with your kids for their teachers! Have a great Tuesday!!
