Wow! This week has just flown by! I had so many things planned for the blog this week and only 2 of them happened!! UGH! I hate that! I’ll have to catch up next week.
Today I want to talk about patterns. There is one specifically that I am thinking of; the Chevron pattern.
(On a side note, the blog where I got this picture of the chevron pattern from was talking about hating it!! haha, I thought that was pretty funny.)
I have mixed feeling about this pattern. When I first started seeing it around everywhere I hated it. I thought it was ugly and it hurt my eyes to look at it, but as I’ve seen it literally EVERYWHERE, especially around the blogging/diy/crafting world I think it’s growing on me. I saw these simple hand towels a lady made for her kitchen and I wanted them for mine too. I saw someone else paint a plate and I wanted to do that, as well. I saw a pillow, a chair, a wall, pretty much anything you can think of and I’m jealous of these people who have the patience to make this pattern. I just don’t know if I have it in me to tape whatever it is I want to do and measure it out. PLUS, I’m not really good at measuring and staying straight. Give me a leveler and I’ll make whatever it is crooked still!! I might be a lost cause, but I really do want to give it a try on SOMETHING.
So, I decided to give it a try on some hand towels for the kitchen(I found the inspiration for them on pinterest, of course! I might have found it on a blog link party because I couldn’t find it in my boards. UGH!). I need some new ones. The only problem is, I can’t find the pattern on a hand towel now that I want it. *SIGH* So, I’m at square one again, trying to figure out where to put the pattern. I should paint my washer and dryer with the pattern. That way, if it goes wrong the only person that will see it is me, but maybe that’s why I shouldn’t do it…. I HATE it when something I make isn’t perfect! I’m very harsh on myself when it comes to crafting stuff.
I have been organizing my closet this week and it’s so white and boring. I thought today that it would be fun to paint it with a pattern. I know you can buy stencils to do this and that might be an easier way of doing it. Hmmmm, I might do just that… but I’m still not sure about the chevron pattern. I have seen a bunch of other stencils that people have been using that I really like. I guess we’ll have to wait it out and see how I feel about it in a little while. I’m working on that first sewing project so I’m pretty busy with that. (I bought the fabric for it today. TOTALLY excited about it!
what do you think about the chevron pattern? Like it, hate it? Tell us why. What pattern are you crazy about? I’d love to hear what you like and dislike!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!
I absolutely LOVE the chevron pattern…it is popping up everywhere in my home as I am decorating and need a fun punch of pattern and color. I ordered several yards of fabric in chevron…a chocolate brown for the living room, a grey for trent’s room, and a bright turquoise for the girls room…it may just be a trendy fad, but I am riding the chevron wave while it’s around! 😉
I like the chevron. I’ll be sad if it’s a fad. I’d like to make a quilt with it and I’d hate for it to be out before I get it done! BTW the valentine’s shirts are great.
I think it has its place… I wouldn’t wear it, but on some items in the home it could be cute.
Love it, love it, love it. It’s very modern feeling, which I love. I’m excited to see your fabric!! And I’m excited to eat Arby’s food with you on Monday. Yummm.

A perfect example of a super cute chevron design!!! I would have a quilt like this in my house!
I’m the blogger who hated the chevron pattern, and funny enough, I’ve got to admit it’s growing on me too, although I don’t know that I’ll be bringing it into my home quite yet!
