Welcome to this weeks Pinterest Pick!! I’m excited to show off this cute little skirt that I created. The fabrics are my Favorite!! I had so much fun creating it and hope I get a chance to make it again in the future!
I’ve told you that I’m participating in a series called Learn to Sew over at Crazy Little Projects. I have sewn a lot of things and it has been so fun!! I’m so glad I signed up for it! I have been learning a lot and getting a lot of good advice from everyone participating.
Well, lesson 4, last week was on how to add elastic. I already knew how to do this, but she had the cutest and easiest tutorial to practice this technique on so I totally HAD to make it!! I had already pinned the skirt months, possibly even a year, before this series so I already knew I wanted to try it out. Having it be part of the series just made me actually get it done quicker!
That’s the image I pinned on pinterest. You can find the tutorial on Amber’s blog from the learn to sew series here. She has a tutorial for this skirt and also one for making pj pants. They’re both really easy to make! I did both that week!
Without further ado, here are pictures of my skirt that I made:
What do you think? I really love the fabrics!! The top 2 were in the same line and I just happened to have the dotted one already and it matched pretty well in my opinion. It was really easy to sew together. The only thing I had a problem with was putting the elastic throught the waist because I don’t have any big safety pins. Mine were all teeny tiny when I was sewing this together 2 weeks ago. Since then, I’ve made a trip to walmart and bought a box full of BIG safety pins!! Next time I tackle this skirt I’ll be ready! 🙂
Well, that’s it for this week’s pinterest pick. This week has been full of using ideas from pinterest for sewing and crafting. I’m ready to take a break…. yeah right! LOL I’m already trying to get started on next weeks pinterest pick so stay tuned for that exciting post coming out! Hope you have a great weekend!!
