I saw this idea on pinterest a few weeks ago and thought it was brilliant! I immediately got on the Silhouette online store website and found this little boy that would work perfect for it!
This project was really easy, but, it did take me about an hour from start to finish. The only reason it took so long was because putting the little boy together proved to be more challenging for me. LOL I always have to make things harder than they should be!
Supplies needed:
* Cardstock (I used 5 different colors. You can use as many or as few as you’d like.)
* Xyron create a sticker maker
*Silhouette Cameo (or a cricut, you will have to use different files than I do though.)
* Laminating sheet (This is optional. You don’t have to do this step, but it does make the sign more durable.)
I had my silhouette cut out all the different shapes. I made the rounded corner shape in my Silhouette studio program and had it cut out the blue background paper. I could’ve easily used my paper cutter and then my corner rounder, but when I’m on a roll using my Silhouette, I just tend to use it more.
I used the Xyron sticker maker for the letters. That thing is seriously a life saver!! I LOVE not having to use a glue stick for each individual letter now!! It’s awesome!
Here it is on the front door. When it’s not in use I put it on the back of the door, like the above picture. Tinian did play with it so I have since not been able to do that. I keep it close to the door for easy access though.
Thanks for stopping by!
That is BRILLIANT! I get 50 thousand million knocks a day, and I work from home. I’ve gotten to where I answer the door like a maniac lol! I NEEDED this idea..
Oh good!! I want to see your sign after you make it! 🙂
