I made this project two years ago and I was going to make more this year to sell in my Etsy shop, but, alas, life happened and I haven’t gotten around to making more of them. I wanted to share the sign I made with you again so here it is:
Supplies Needed:
* Brown paint
* Circle wood piece
* Rectangle wood piece
* Yellow, orange and red cardstock/vinyl
* 5 different ribbons in fall-ish colors
* Letter stickers (or vinyl and a cutting machine)
* 2 buttons for the eyes (or something similar to buttons)
* Hot glue gun
* Mod Podge
I made this before I had my Silhouette, so I cut everything out by hand. It was Ca-Ray-Zy!! I can’t even remember how life was back then! lol I used cardstock because that’s all I had. You can use Vinyl and a Silhouette if you have one. The Silhouette online store has a lot of cute turkey shapes.
This is the finished project. I didn’t take any in the process pictures. Sorry about that! I made it before I really started doing stuff like that for the blog.
My favorite part of this project is the orange and green ribbon with polka dots on it. I didn’t have very much in the way of fall ribbon so I had to buy all of these and I wanted a fat one, but none of the craft stores close to me sold anything I was happy with. I finally decided to go to a craft store on the other side of town and found this one. I was SO excited about it! 🙂
If I were to change anything about this sign it would be the color of the letters. When I made this I didn’t have very many scrapbooking supplies. I sold them all the year before because I thought I’d never use them again, HA! 🙂
Anyway, pink, blue and green don’t really scream fall and they don’t really match the other colors of the ribbons. Maybe I’ll try pulling them off and redoing them for next year.
My second favorite part is the little feet I attached to the top of the rectangle sign. I thought it was such a cute idea!!
I love this sign because it’s one of the very first crafty things I made when I was starting on this new journey/hobby in life. I got the idea from a blogging friend, Kaysi, over at Keeping it Simple. She is such an amazing crafter and I admire her blog. Go check it out and tell her I sent you!
Well, thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great Wednesday! As you read this we are driving the long and exciting roads down to Las Vegas. I hope I will survive to bring you some new posts next week. I’ve been scrapbooking a lot lately and I have some posts planned to show those pages off. I can’t wait!!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday!
