Well, Hello there! I’m glad you’re here and just as much, I’m glad I’m here today. I’ve been trying to keep up with my cleaning schedule and the rest of life this week so I haven’t had much time to sit down and schedule this post. Thanks for being patient with me!
I follow along with the Silhouette blog posts and they do a weekly challenge where you can link up your projects. This week it was a phrase challenge. I’ve been waiting to post this project for a while, but when I found out this was the challenge I decided to finally write up the post for you!
I am So excited to show you this fun scrapbooking page I made a little while ago. I got the idea from pinterest, of course, and I am just in LOVE with how mine turned out!! Here’s the pinterest image (click the image to go to the original source):
So cute, right?!!
Here’s how my page turned out:
What do you think? I just love it all. Everything about it just makes me smile!!
Here’s how I made it:
I picked out the papers I wanted to use and the washi tape. I cut out the pinkish accent color cardstock on my Silhouette with a fun little border shape.
As I was pulling it off the mat I accidentally got too excited and a little piece of the cardstock got stuck. I had to come up with a way to hide the little mistake so I put the picture on top of it. Not only did I do that, but I decided to give the picture a little dimension.
I used Recollections Foam Adhesive Strips:
I felt like the background needed a little more texture so I used a spool of tulle I had on hand to create that on one side of the layout.
I didn’t want the normal tape I use to be noticeable on the tulle so I used this invisible tape. I didn’t even know I had it! lol I was looking through my glue and tape drawer (yes, I have a drawer dedicated to glue and tape! You should too!!) and saw it and was so glad I bought it however long ago I did. Probably in the spur of the moment where I felt like I needed to buy something but was just making a fun trip to Michaels with nothing really on my list to buy. Do you do that? I do it all the time. That’s probably why we never have any money, shhhh, don’t tell my husband! 🙂
Ok, this is where the washi tape and Silhouette fun begins!! Are you ready?! 🙂 Here’s what I did… I used white cardstock and picked out 5 tapes that I liked best and thought they went well together. After picking them out and cutting out the phrase I realized how they didn’t all go that great together, but when I’m in the moment I don’t always make the best decisions. Do you do that? Something looks good until after you make it and you realize you must have been out of your mind to pick those colors together?!! Yeah, that’s me, all the time.
Anyway, I picked out this ‘love this moment’ phrase from the Silhouette store and thought it would be perfect for this page title. The picture is an engagement picture so of course I ‘love this moment’! 🙂 I put my paper with the washi tape on it in my Silhouette and had it cut out the phrase.
This is what it looked like when I pulled out the phrase. I decided that the ‘love this’ art of the phrase looked great so I put aside the ‘moment’ part and recut it with the first 3 washi tapes I chose. It turned out much better!!
I used the foam strips to pop up ‘this’ and ‘moment’ to match up with the photo depth.
I thought the layout needed a little something extra so I pulled out these cute little self adhesive pearl flowers. Aren’t they adorable? I fell in love with them immediately!
I put one in the ‘o’ of love….
and 2 more in the top right corner.
Well, that’s it! I will probably do this again. It was really easy and turned out great. I’m hoping to start doing more projects and crafts with my Silhouette in the coming months and I can’t wait to share them with you!
Thanks for stopping by!
