I am SO excited about this post!! I haven’t been doing any really big sewing projects. I should be, but I’m just not motivated… although I did finish 2 Christmas presents last week for my nephews.
Anyway, I was on facebook on Thursday last week and saw the one of the pattern shops that I follow needed testers for a cute little dress. I thought about it for a second and then signed up to make a size 5-6 dress. I know what you’re thinking, why would I want to make a dress for a girl I don’t have AND when I have a ton of other sewing and craft projects I need to finish for Christmas presents??!! Yeah, I’m a little weird. Procrastinator is one word for it… I also think I get bored with making stuff I’m supposed to be making! It’s a problem I have. Hopefully I’ll get over it some day.
As you know I posted last Friday for some fabric pattern help. Thanks for the feedback you gave me! It helped a lot! I did actually make up my mind on my own:) Well, ok, not entirely, I picked out what I liked and asked my hubs what he thought. He actually like the choice I thought would look good. That surprised me!! He’s a very plain guy. He doesn’t like big bold patterns like I do.
I guess I should get on with this post and show you what I ended up making:
What do you think??!! I’m in LOVE with it!! I think it turned out so great! Not to toot my own horn, but I’m really surprised about how well I did! I didn’t think it was going to be a hard pattern to make, but it was really so much easier than I thought!!
I asked our good friend from our ward if her youngest daughter could model it for me.
I LOVED this picture! She did this all on her own and it was the cutest thing!!
These were the other two favorites of mine that didn’t win the battle:
I was going to do this one, but I didn’t have enough of the flower fabric to finish the dress!:P Don’t you hate when that happens?!!
Now I am off to put this cute dress in my Etsy shop. If you would like to purchase it and live in Idaho Falls, I’ll give you a coupon for free shipping and maybe an even better deal on it:) Also, I’m thinking I’ll put up a custom order listing for this dress too.
I’m taking more pictures of another girl in it later today so I might come back and post more. I’ll keep you updated!
Thanks for stopping by!!
That turned out soooo cute!! Good job, Megs!
Very cute. The fabrics are great!
This is adorable – I love all the pleats! I need to make a couple of dresses for my 1 & 4 year old, but I just haven’t been inspired. Now I’m digging through my fabric stash to see what will work. Thanks for the motivation!
