Hi ya’ll! I’m Amy from SewsNBows. It’s a pretty self-indulgent little blog, where I show off my sewing projects- mostly kids clothing. I hate it when things like laundry and dinner get in between me & my sewing machine.
Today I’m sharing 10 of the my favorite free girls sewing patterns on the web. All of these links include a printable PDF pattern. Some of them are fairly new, some are oldies but goodies. A couple can be unisex too. These are at the top of my “patterns to try” list!
This simple summer dress is a simple block that can be embellished a million ways!
Here’s a cute skirt to use up your extra bits of fabric & trims.
I still haven’t tried sewing a swimsuit; but when I do, I’m starting here!
There’s a pile of T-shirts at my house just waiting to be made into this skirt.
Schwin&Schwin has tons of free patterns! I want to start on winter jammas early this year.
One of my goals is to get more comfortable with knits. I love Figgys patterns, so this skirt will be a good start.
I can’t wait to whip up a pair of these overalls! Emily is super sweet- I “hang out” at her place all the time!
Who doesn’t need a good basic shorts block?
Here’s another knit project I can cut my teeth on.
This dress is only available for free through the end of this month, so get it quick! It has kitty cat pockets:)

Thanks for letting me hijack your blog for today Megan!
Oh my gosh, this makes me wish I was a better seamstress. I kept thinking, “Oh, my kids really do need more shorts. Oh, my daughter really needs more dresses….”
You know I’ll sew you anything you want!! 🙂 just supply the fabric and I’ll do the rest!
Cute stuff- I would love to try and swimming suit and some of those dresses for my girls! Thanks for sharing! Maybe I’ll get brave this summer- too many To Do’s so maybe I can avoid them and start sewing projects instead! Ha!
That’s a good idea Jeanne! I should just sew and ignore the house:)
[…] ya’ll see my guest post over at Crafty Meggy’s the other day? If you hoard patterns, you better go make sure you have all my top picks for free […]
Lovely compilation, Amy 🙂
