Exercise, Fitness, Losing Weight

Fitness = Energy

I have just discovered a well known secret, fitness gives you ENERGY!!! Who knew?!! 🙂

Seriously, though, I had so much energy yesterday thropughout the whole day, minus my catnap at 1:30 for 15 minutes:) and I woke up at 5:30! 5:30, no joke!! I usually have a hard time waking up before 6:45, but I actually woke up at 5:30!! I was so proud of myself! … and thankful to my husband who kept saying my name until I got out of bed. LOL

I have decided that I want to lose 40 pounds. I’ve been the biggest I’ve ever been since I had my last baby, 3 years ago. It’s kind of embarrassing. I was always a small, skinny girl, but now I’ve got a lot of extra skin and fat left over from big babies!! So, my husband and I are doing a biggest loser challenge between the two of us to help motivate us to lose weight. We haven’t ironed out all the details yet, but I’m starting a new workout routine this week.

My goal is to wake up every morning at 5:30, workout on the Wii doing Zumba for 30 minutes or more, depending on how fast I can get downstairs. I want to be out of the shower after my workout at 6:30 because that’s when my kids’ alarm goes off. I will probably go down to 3 workouts at home and 2 Zumba classes at the gym. I really like going to an actual class. The environment is so much more motivating than working out at home. Not to mention, working out on carpet is really HARD compared to a gym floor!!

To keep me motivated and you up to date I will probably be posting every other week about my progress and any new workout routine’s I decide to do. I get the magazine ‘Shape’ and there are always new workout circuits to do in each issue. I might switch out my home routines with these some days. I think it will depend on how bored I get of doing Zumba at home:)

Wish me luck!! If you’re doing anything special or would like to share what you are doing to lose weight or just to stay in shape I’d love to hear it!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

    1. I haven’t joined a gym. I’m thinking about worlds gym over by Walmart cuz it’s only $10 a month but I don’t know of they offer classes:p we should go jogging together!

  1. I love this post! You go girl! You can do it! It is great that you and Mark are in this together because it always helps to have a workout partner/support! I love the YMCA (and they have free childcare!), you might even be able to get a scholarship to go there. I lost a lot of weight doing spinning classes. Love them. I burn about 700 calories in an hour class. Cardio is great, but strength training also helps you loose weight, so don’t neglect that. And yes, exercising gives you energy and just plain makes you feel good! Even when money is tight I can’t give up my gym membership! It is my sanity… my “me” time… and it makes me feel good about myself! I’m so proud of you! Stick with it and if you ever need any advice call me! I have worked in the fitness industry since I was 16! I love working out… and get really pumped about it! If you can’t tell… Love ya!
