Using Continuance to Guide The Eye ~ Get It Scrapped

Hello and happy Tuesday!! Sorry, it’s been a few days since I’ve posted anything. I am working really hard at rearranging and organizing my scrap studio for the past 4 days and it is a lot more work than I thought! I am hoping to be back to normal by tomorrow and start posting more for you to enjoy.

Today I have a layout I made for Get It Scrapped showing how to use continuance on a layout. I really love this layout and how I set up the design.

I made this layout with the intention of telling a funny story. I wanted your eye to start at the top and travel down the layout in a zig zag motion.

I wanted to use some fun birthday centered ephemera and was so excited to use a new pack that I had bought back in April and hadn’t had the chance to use it yet. This Hip Hip Hooray piece is very eye catching and kinda jumps out at you. It makes you start looking up at the top and then you continue down the line from there.

These photos were taken in March of 2017, but Jonas’ birthday is in October. We moved back in September of 2016 and when his birthday came around we could not find his birthday present from his grandparents. Grandma was pretty sure she had given me the present to hold onto, which was weird because I remember not liking that idea and thinking we’d misplace it in the move. Well, we did! So he didn’t get a present from G&G Blethen…. until March 2017 when I was going through an old toy box in the garage and found the present! Haha!

Jonas was so excited to see what he had picked out the year before… I don’t think he was super happy after opening the present. He’s not really into Pokemon much anymore, but he was a good sport and played with the toy for the rest of the day.

The ephemera and photos create the perfect zig zag to continue on from top to bottom on this scrapbook page. I also added some HEidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and SpiegelMom scraps sequins to add a little more bling for that birthday flair.

I hope you enjoyed this layout!! Make sure to visit the Get It Scrapped blog post to see the other layouts created by the Design Team ladies.
