Cultivating Creativity #1 ~ Be Inspired by Candy

Hello and happy Wednesday!! I am so glad it’s Wednesday! Haha! I feel like I’m drowning this week and am so excited for the weekend to be here. But, for today, I am excited to share a fun new series on my channel!

I have been doing a kit series on my channel with some friends on YouTube for the past year and it has been super fun! As the new year came around we started talking about maybe changing up the challenge a bit and doing something different together. We decided on a bi-weekly challenge that we will post on Tuesdays. Each time one of us will pick a new challenge and all work on that. It will be so fun to see how differently we are inspired each week.

So, for this first week, Khristina challenged us to be inspired by candy some way. At first I really wasn’t sure what on earth I was going to do, but then Hannah and I were talking and she mentioned I could be inspired by skittles or their little saying ‘Taste the Rainbow’. When she said that I mulled that around for a few days and then it hit me! My middle son Brynnan used to talk about how his favorite color was “100 colors”. It’s one of my favorite memories and I just KNEW that was what my layout was going to be about.

This is my finished layout. I’m so happy with how it turned out!! I used my December Clique kit and the Wonder collection Thickers.

I’m going to do the journaling on the card that I tucked in the glassine bag above the photo.

I really loved using this cut file from The Cut Shoppe. It’s one of my favorite alphas from her!

I put one of the cork butterflies from the newish Pink Paislee colledction, Moonstruck, in each cluster.

I kept each cluster really simple and I just LOVE the little pieces together in this top cluster.

I love this photo of Brynnan. It’s not actually an accurate photo of him at the time he said this, but I thought it was cute and it’s one that I had so I decided to use it.

These pretty acetate pieces in this cluster are from the Illustrated Faith collection called ‘You Are Loved’.
