For The Love Of Homemade Kits Layout #2: Love the Sweet Stuff

Hello Hello again! I am back today with a layout I made using my 2nd homemade kit in this series I’m doing with Hannah Lemieux and Felicia Young.

I made my layout this past weekend, which was National Scrapbook Day/weekend. I was able to participate in a few of the challenges and this one I made for a layering challenge in the Victoria Marie FB Group on facebook.

I had this really big scrap of that blue paper and I thought it would work well as a background. I pulled out a Close to my Heart white paper to use as the full background and decided it needed a little something to spice up the background between it and the blue paper.

It’s kind of hard to tell, but I used my Heidi Shine in butter with some water and the packaging technique.

The title is my favorite part of this layout! I had this ‘love’ acetate word and the ‘sweet stuff’ little tag in the ephemera pack I put in the kit. I thought they would be perfect for the title and just added the black tile alpha from Tim Holtz.

I really LOVE this photo of Brynnan, my birthday boy, licking his fingers of the cake batter!! It’s such a quiet moment and just so candid. These are my favorite types of photos to capture of my kids. There’s no way I’d remember this without this photo and it makes me so happy to have caught this moment in time.

I just love this little cluster in the top right hand corner of the photo. I usually do 3 distinct clusters and they’re almost always in a triangle, but on this layout I decided to go against those scrapbooking “rules” and create this one kind of big cluster area in this top right corner area. If I hadn’t put the ‘sweet’ tag in there you could classify this as 2 separate clusters, but I was rebelling and liked the way the tag looked. 🙂

You can find my process video below or here.

Thanks so much for watching! I hope you’re having a great scrappy week!
