For The Love Of Homemade Kits: Layout #4 (These 4 Kids)

Hello and happy Tuesday scrappy friends!! I hope you’re having a great week so far! Today I have another layout for you in this Homemade Kit series I’m doing with my scrappy bestie Hannah. Felicia Young has also been playing along with us. I have loved seeing the kits and the amazing layouts we have all been making and sharing over the last 3 weeks!

For this layout I used a recipe challenge from the Victoria Marie NSD online crop that Christy shared with us. Here’s the recipe she came up with:

  • 3 patterend papers
  • dimentional embellishment
  • Use one branding/border strip
  • NO GOLD!

As you can tell from the photos, I kind of failed at not using gold. I just couldn’t help it!! It looked too pretty to not include the little gold bow from the chipboard set I had in this kit.

I kept this layout really simple because the background was really busy and bold with that big pink and blue diagonal stripe.

I used the wood veneer diamond as my dimensional embellishment. I also had a couple of tags to add to that cluster as well as enamel dots.

I really love how the title turned out! I loved the idea of cutting up all the numbers on the main inspiration paper we used for this kit. For this layout it worked out perfect to use the numbers 1, 2, 3 in the top left hand corner and then the number 4 in the title. I wasn’t sure if I could use enought of the numbers up to make it worth while for cutting up the whole 12×12 sheet, but I feel like I did a good job using them! I made 5 layouts with this homemade kit and I used the numbers on 4 out of the 5!

I love that I was able to fit the acetate word ‘together’ on top of the diamond wood veneer. It completed that cluster.

And of course I had to use thechipboard gold bow!! I did take it off at first when I entered Christy’s challenge, BUT I just couldn’t leave it that way. lol
