For the Love of Homemade Kits: Round 4, Layout #2 (A Day To Remember)

FortheloveofhomemadekitsIntroweb

Hello again! I hope you’re all doing well! It’s been a little bit since I’ve blogged because life has been super crazy lately!! I’m hoping I can get a bit of time this week to play and have some time to scrapbook! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve had time to play and it’s making me so sad!

Anyway, I posted up my second layout using my 4th homemade kit in this fun series I’m doing with some YouTube friends. Here are some pictures of my completed layout below.

For this layout I decided to use the chalkboard paper as my background. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep the words that were printed onto the paper, but in the end I do decide to keep them and make them my title and part of a top cluster as well.

This is the top left hand cluster and I kept it pretty simple because of the pretty big ‘TODAY’ banner printed onto the background paper. I love how this turned out with the teal thread.

The layering behind the photos is probably my favorite thing about this layout!! I’m not the best at layering, but this time it just seemed to work out and flow together easily. I love it when it just works right!

This is the bottom left hand cluster I made up to keep your eye flowing around the layout. I am glad that I used that wood veneer frame and put some paper behind it. Having the 3 patterned papers visible behind it was just too distracting so the one patterned paper was a great solution.

I added some more thread and washi to the lower right corner of the photo mat. I also popped the photos up on some foam tape to make them a little taller for the wood veneer to fit under.

This made doing the title super easy, I didn’t have to even worry about it. I kinda like it when I can already have a put together title and I don’t have to do any work. I’m kinda lazy with my titles.

I love these photos of my middle son, Brynnan, and my Father-in-Law on his baptism day 2 years ago. It was about time I scrapbooked them! 🙂

And here’s the journaling I wrote up next to the photos on the left side.
