Scrapping Wonders ~ Day In The Life Spread ~ Mixed Media

Hello scrappy friends! I have a new/old Travelers Notebook spread I want to share with you. I really LOVE how this one turned out and I’m excited to show you it, so let’s just start off right away!

This is my full spread and I am soooo in LOVE with it!! I recently took a class on Big Picture Classes by Celine Navarro called Mixed Media. It was absolutely an amazing class and I immediately had to make this spread.

Celine suggested to use a lot of different layers of media and to let them dry. I made this spread over a couple days and letting things dry for a few hours each and at one point overnight as well.

I used a lot of different techniques on this spread and I think that was one of the most exciting parts for me. There is modeling paste, gel medium, a doily, 3 different stencils, a stamp Tim Holtz crayons and spray mist. That’s a LOT of media for one spread, especially for me!!

I had 3 photos taken around the same time. I decided to have the two similar photos on the same page, the left side, and this one on the right side, even though that puts the time stamps out of order. I felt that it flowed better this way and am happy with that decision.

I am a perfectionist, if you know me even a little you probably don’t need me to tell you this, but this layout was fun and needed a fun title. I decided to make it all wonky and have fun with it. I added a little tag to write the journaling on since I knew the mixed media background wouldn’t be easy to write on.

Don’t you just love all of the texture on the background?!! Have I told you how much I am in LOVE with this spread? I don’t think I have, haha. I used a navy tile alpha for the title to help it stand out off of the page and I love the placement.

I kept the embellishing to a minimum because of how busy and fun the background is. I just love the texture you can see in this photo of those x’s. One of my favorite stencils. You can also see the doily to the left if you look hard enough.

If you enjoyed the photos so much you can go watch my process video to see exactly how I made each layer and used each piece of media. I can’t wait to make another spread like this in a TN!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you’re having a great weekend!!
