Hello scrapbookers!! I am back again tonight with a layout that I made for my challenge group on Facebook called Scrappy Challenges. If you aren’t already a member come on over and join us! We would love to have you and see what you create with our challenges!! You can find the group here on Facebook.
So, let’s get started!! I had a 4×4 photo of all my scrappy stuff that I brought to the retreat that I went to in the middle of April and since I LOVE scrapbooking and I loved going to the retreat, which was my first one ever, I knew immediately that was the picture I was going to use for this challenge. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with the layout or the picture so I decided to go to pinterest and find THE perfect layout to scraplift. I found it and I am so happy that I did!
This was a layout on the Studio Calico blog from way back in 2013 so the link doesn’t go to the post, but at least you have an idea of what the layout looks like.
This is the layout I made and I am so in LOVE!!! I used the Crate Paper Craft Market collection, mainly, which is one of my all time favorite collections! I also used gold Thickers from American Crafts called ‘Daiquiri’.
I usually use a scraplifted layout as a jumping off point and I twist it and tweak it to be more my style. This layout was already amazing and I didn’t want to change a single thing about it so I stuck to it!
I chose the title ‘all packed and ready to go’ and the placement of it was so easy I didn’t have to think about where to put it at all. It fit perfectly in the area right next to the banners and washi tape. The pink alpha I used for the word ‘and’ was pretty much the same color as the paper I put it on so I decided to use the Close to my Heart Smoothie ink that I was inking the edges of all the papers with and dab it onto the area around it.
I really love the alpha on this layout! It’s probably one of my favorite things about it.
The layered ‘xoxo’ tag and the flower give the layout a little bit more dimension and interest. I really like how the flower is hanging off the side of the layout. It’s a simple little cluster and adds a needed girly touch.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I hope you had a great Monday! If you’d like to watch my process while making this layout you can view it on YouTube or below:
