SpiegelMom Scraps Feltie Friday Celebration

feltiefriday

Hello fellow scrapbookers! I am here to share another layout I made for SpiegelMom Scraps. For the next 3 days we will be celebrating Labor Day with a fun Triple Day Hop. Today is the first day and we are all going to be featuring Felt shapes which you can find in the Spiegelmom Scraps shop here.

Here’s the line up for today’s blog hop:
Crafty Meggy >>>>>> YOU ARE HERE<<<<<
You should’ve come here from Felicia’s blog. Don’t you just love her layout?!! I’m so happy to be on such an amazing team with these great ladies! I hope you’re excited to see my project! I’m really happy with how it turned out! I knew I wanted to use the Cloudy Day  Felties because my boys just finished taking swimming lessons a week ago and I always take tons of photos for the 2 weeks during the summer they participate in them. I decided to scrap the photos I took from the first day of swimming because there was a little bigger story behind that day. My youngest son had a therapy appointment, which I thought I had scheduled for an hour after swimming lessons, but, as we were standing in line to go into lessons I realized his appointment was right then!! Eeeeek! So, I let the other two boys stay for their lessons and drove Tinian to his therapy. It all worked out, but next year I’ll be a bit more careful when scheduling lessons and be more mindful of other appointments going on.
Whew! Now that you know the back story behind the layout lets jump right in!

I had so much fun making this layout!! I loved the idea of adding the sequins to the felt clouds and I’m so happy with how it turned out!! I used two different sequins mixes for this layout. The bigger sequins are from the new mix called Let’s be Mermaids, which I am so in love with!! I think I might need to go order a few more packs because I am almost out of them! The smaller blue sequins are from Spring Blooms. I really love the blues and yellows in both of these mixes!

For the title I used Amy Tangerine ‘Alyx’ chipboard letters and the little tile alpha is from We R Memory Keepers ‘Honey, I’m Home’ accent sticker sheet. I really love the simple look these two alphas bring to the layout. I kept the title pretty self explanatory. I’m horrible at titles, but I’ve come to terms with that! haha

bloghop3

I used some ephemera from Claudia Van R’s summer collection ‘Hot Right Now’ and a little tag from a Citurs Twist kit. I used a large glassine bag and stuck a pattern piece of paper in it to do my journaling on. I wanted to be able to tell the story behind these 3 photos, but I wanted to keep the layout clean looking so using the glassine bag made a great hidden spot.

I know I said it already, but I just absolutely LOVE these clouds!! You can see the sequins that I glued to a few of the clouds.

  1. love how you used the blue stripe paper as the “sky” and added the clouds and sequins to it. the pops of yellow really add to the layout.
