Tombow NSD Layout #4 & #5: My Speacialty, Banana Bread

Hello Hello again my scrappy friends! I have another layout I made using the Mon Amour collection from Graphic 45. I have had these photos of me making banana bread for a long time…. they were taken way back in 2008. I was trying to figure out what photos to use to make one more layout with this collection and I happened across these ones. They were perfect for this collection! So I decided, since there were so many of them, to make a double page layout.

I went to pinterest to look for a double page spread to scraplift and I found one that I really loved:

I really loved the placements of the photos and the patterned papers so that is mainly where I started with making this layout. I kind of took my layout in a different direction once I got started and gluing everything down.

This is my finished layout. I am in LOVE with how it turned out! I kept it really simple, with minimal embellishing and I really love how it looks like that.

This photo of me with my mouth open is one of my favorites. I was always so horrible about getting the banana bread mix all over the counter while using the hand mixer, but that’s all we had to use so I was stuck with it. I love that my husband caught this shot of me as I yelped about the mix flying out of the bowl. lol For this reason, I decided to mat this photo on 2 pieces of paper and pop it up on pop dots from Recollections at Michael’s.

I also matted the photos on the second page because I felt like they needed a little something behind them to make them stand out. I used an off white paper that matched the papers in the collection.

I wanted to add a doily from my stash and this kraft one I got from Michaels worked perfect! I really love the texture it adds to the layout behind the photos and embellishments.

I used a lot of the chipboard pieces from this Mon Amour collection on this layout. This one in the top left corner of the left page had a blank space for journaling or a date, but I had already done the journaling and date on another part of the layout. I didn’t want to take this piece off so I decided to use one of the small tile alphas from the sticker sheet and spell out the words ‘yes please’. I really love banana bread and so I figured that phrase worked perfect with this layout.

I placed another kraft doily underneath the photos on the left page and decided to write up my journaling on it. I put the date on that chipboard piece to the right of the doily and kept it really simple.

Just another view of the cluster in the top left hand corner of the left page.

Here’s the first part of the title that I placed on the left page. I used a tile alpha from the 12×12 sticker sheet. I really loved having the stickers to go along and coordinate with the papers and chipboard embellishments.
