Hello scrapbookers!! I am here to share a layout I made for Victoria Marie Challenges. The first challenge was on February 6th. Heidi and Sarah challenged us to use the mood board they put together of some of their recent pin’s:
I made this layout, inspired by the bottom right hand photo with the black and white stripes.
I used the Jen Hadfield Home+Made collection for this layout and I just love the colors and patterns in it. I fussy cut the flowers from one of the pattern papers in the collection and I also included a few of the ephemera pieces from the Clique kits January kit.
Here are a few close up photos of this layout:
For the title I used some pretty pale pink thickers from Dear Lizzy called ‘Treasure’.
I kept this layout simple, but pretty, even though it is a boy page. I just can’t help it!
The next challenge was for today’s sketch. Katty Miranda and I decided to use the below sketch and also incorporate Valentine’s day colors, pinks, reds and purples, into our layouts. I stuck with just the pinks and I also decided to make the layout be a companion page to the layout above.
So, here’s my layout:
I wanted to make the background for this layout a bit more simple than the first page so I used a white cardstock paper from Close to my Heart. I absolutely love their white smooth cardstock!!
I again fussy cut the flowers from the same pattern paper on the previous layout to continue on with that same design and feel so you would know these two pages were meant to be together.
I recently bought this Tiny Triangles cut file from The Cut Shoppe and I wanted to use it to create the pattern piece from the sketch, but for some reason my Silhouette was giving me problems and I didn’t want to figure out why right at that moment. I pulled out this triangle paper from the collection and decided to cut out a few of the triangles to give the paper a bit more interest.
I used the same alpha thickers as I did on the layout before and created a little cluster with the flowers.
Here is what the two layouts look like next to each other:
I am really pleased with these two companion pages, especially because I didn’t even use a Valentine’s Day collection. I was hoping to get a Valentine’s day kit I had purchased in time for this challenge, but alas that didn’t come in time so I feel very happy with what I did create without my Vday it!
I don’t have a process video for the first layout, ‘Happy Vday’, but I do have one for the second one ‘For Our Boys’. You can find that below:
Thanks so much for stopping by! If you’re not already a member, come on over to Victoria Marie’s Facebook group. I hope you have a great weekend! I’ll be back on Sunday to share another Valentine’s day layout.
