Get It Scrapped ~ Creating Tension with Type

Hello hello scrappy peeps!! I hope you had a great weekend! I have been working hard at getting caught up on all of my scrapbooking assignments and having fun! I didn’t realize how much I have missed doing videos and scrapping.

So, let’s jump right into this layout! I made this one for Get It Scrapped talking about using type to create tension in a layout.

As you can see I used a few different ways to create tension on my layout with my title.

First off I used a small title alpha for the beginning of the title, it wasn’t as important as my sons name. Next I decided to use a nice Gold alpha that was foam to pop it off of the layout and also it was in all caps.

I wanted to focus on my son and the fact that he loves playing video games so I took a picture of him while he was playing a game one day. I really love the photo of him straight on so I decided to include that one as well.

I had fun using a few different scraps and things from my stash to embellish this layout.

I also did some sewing on the layout and popped the photos up off of the layout.

For the journaling I knew I wanted Jonas to write it himself. He doesn’t have the best handwriting so I made a little pocket for a journaling card that was mostly hidden behind the photos.

This is what he ended up writing on the card. I think it will be fun for him to look back at this layout and remember what he used to love playing at this time in his life.

You can watch the process video below and you can find the blog post over at Get It Scrapped here. You will also be able to see the other Creative Teams layouts and how they used this prompt on their pages.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great scrappy week and a happy Memorial Day!
