Hello scrapbooking friends! I have a new layout for you today and I am in LOVE with it! For this one I used the Life in Color collection from Simple Stories. I received this paper pack as a Tombow Brand Ambassador for National Scrapbook Day.
I really have enjoyed playing with this collection! The colors are just so gorgeous together!! When I first got it I wasn’t sure how I’d like it, but this collection is definitely a favorite of mine!
Don’t you just love these colors?!! I used a cut file from Crafty Jen Schow. You can find it here (It’s called messy background).
This ‘You are my sunshine’ banner was a cut apart 3×4 piece of paper. I wanted to use it as part of a cluster on the layout so I cut it smaller and made it into a banner. It worked perfectly up in the top left hand corner with a couple stickers from the sticker sheet.
I didn’t do very much embellishing because I wanted to stick to using the Life in color collection and I didn’t have the ephemera pack, which is sad. I hope I can find it somewhere soon, I’d really love to use it along with the papers and stickers I have in the collection.
I decided to use 2 different alphas from the sticker sheet for the title. I wanted to do this because I really loved the turquoise alpha, but I had that paper behind the cut file that was the same exact color. I felt that the word would get lost there so by adding the red tile alpha I solved the problem of the disappearing title.
I made this layout for a National Scrapbooking Day challenge. For the Victoria Marie Online Crop, my scrappy bestie, Hannah Lemieux did a cut file challenge. I was excited to participate in the challenge. I have been buying more cut files from shops other than the Silhouette Design Store lately and it has been so much fun purchasing them. I’m really bad about using them though so this challenge was just what I needed to use this great cut file!
I don’t have a process video for this layout, sorry about that! I hope you’ll come back to see more layouts like this one soon! Thanks for stopping by!
