Hello again!! I hope you’re all having a great crafty week! I have another challenge layout I made for the Victoria Marie facebook challenge group. A couple weeks ago two of the design team members challenged us to use up those pesky, but very cute 6×6 paper pads. I actually don’t have as many as a lot of scrapbookers, I try to control myself when it comes to 6×6 paper pads. I go crazy with 12×12 paper though, so that makes up for it, right?
Anyway, I wanted to share the layout I made using one of my favorite My Minds Eye 6×6 pads, Cut & Paste Charm. This collection is adorable and boyish, but I never got any pieces of it because it came out the year before I started getting back into scrapbooking. I managed to find the 6×6 pad at a local craft store and snatched it up. I haven’t used it since, so, this was the perfect time to use it!
I decided to use some photos of my middle son, Brynnan, and our old dog, Sirius. I really love the candid shots I captured on this special day for Brynnan of these two. I took these photos on his baptism day in 2014.
I decided to make a double page layout, but it’s more of a two page companion spread. I did really want there to be that much uniformity between the two pages, so I like to call them companion pages instead of double pages.
Besides the Cut & Paste paper pad I also used my January Clique kit, which had the Fancy Pants Happy Place Collection in it.
We got a whole pack of the Happy Place ephemera so I decided to try using up a lot of the pieces on this side of the layouts. I wasn’t too sure I liked it, but now I think it’s growing on me.
I like having the title stretch across the two pages and that it follows the line of the photos across the first page and down the second.
I really love this cute flower piece that was in the ephemera pack and was happy it found a place on this layout.
For the hearts I actually used a Silhouette Stamp material shape that I had previously cut out. I traced the hearts first and then used a metallic gelato to color them in.
Well, that is it for these 2 companion pages. They were a lot of fun to make! I don’t have any process videos for either of these layouts, sorry about that! Sometimes I just need to take a break from recording. It helps my mojo stay in tack I’ve noticed.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
