So, this week HAS NOT been fun. My kids are sick. It started with Brynnan, my 5 year old, on Thursday last week. He is prone to having bronchitis during the winter. He actually hasn’t had it for a couple of years, but when he started barking and wheezing Thursday I cringed. Friday I had him stay home from school. He was acting fine, just coughing a ton. Saturday it got worse and Sunday even more worse. Monday I finally took him into the doctor. I don’t normally put off taking my kids to the doctor, but Medicaid has come out with a new policy that whenever we go see the dr. we have to pay a co-pay of $3.65. That’s really not that much at all, but if you know my kids we’re at the doctors office ALL the time!! *SIGH* So, I took him in and they did a couple breathing treatments on him and then prescribed some steroids and albutorol to use at home. Since Brynnan (and now Tinian) are both prone to having bronchitis we have a nebulizer machine. It’s horrible, especially for babies. They don’t want to sit still with a mask breathing in medicine fumes. So I have to wrestle with Tinian to do it. He started coughing on Monday and continued getting worse throughout the rest of the week. He started sleeping most of the day and not eating so I took him in on Wednesday and got the same stuff for him that Brynnan got.
So Brynnan has been in and out of school for the past week and Tinian has just felt crummy. I haven’t been able to do anything because he only wants to sleep in my arms and when he’s not sleeping he wants me to hold him. My dishes pile up all day long and into the night until I can get to them the next day if he’ll let me. He’s actually feeling a lot better now that the steroids are kicking in! He ate lunch today and has been drinking a lot better!
I had a post planned for Wednesday, but I never got a chance to finish it, unfotunately. Maybe next week it’ll go up:) Today I was able to somewhat do my hair since Tini was feeling better. I saw this pin on pinterest and I LOVED it so I tried it out today. I didn’t have a whole lot of time, between the sick baby and needing to pick up my son from kindergarten, but at least I tried it out.
This is the image from pinterest. I wish my hair was that long!! I’m too impatient to wait for it to grow out that long so I always end up cutting it.
I braided my hair into 8 different sections. Since my hair is layered I couldn’t do loose braids otherwise they would have all fallen out. Sorry about the color!! My face really isn’t bright pinkish purple!! lol
The baby was entertained by the sink and all the fun stuff around it. Yes, he is using the cloth to clean my glasses to clean the mirror! lol Oh, and the reason he’s only wearing a diaper is because he got his clothes all wet from turning on the faucet. That really freaked him out!
And here’s the finished version. It doesn’t look as pretty because I didn’t have enough time to wait for it to cool down so I didn’t spray with hair spray. I like the wavy, crinkle look though.
And here’s a view from the side.

uuugghhh…im always trying to straighten my hair, not curl it. lol i like my waves n curls, but i wish they were more cooperative. the pic u posted was awesome. that girl has great hair! and i’m like you. growing it bores me. but i’m trying. it does seem to take forever. i actually dyed it a color one shade brighter than my normal color, and now i can see how much it has grown in 8 months. its kinda helpful. its grown a few inches. :O)
Oh how I wish my hair was as beautiful as the picture of the girl you posted! Your hair turned out nice and wavy! I would like my hair to be a bit more curly. There are many days that it will not do anything so it ends up in a clippy. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by to link up for Functional Friday!

I think your hair looks cute with the crinkles. Nice that you can do that just with braids — which sort of look like a “Medusa” look, BTW 🙂
Sorry to hear about Brynnan & Tinian being so ill. I hope they’ll be better soon so you can feel good about being back to your schedule with keeping your home tidy.
Good Luck!
You know, I never, ever got the beachy waves thing to work for me. No matter what I tried. It remained a mystery. So I cut it off. 🙂 I’m so sorry about Brynnan and Tinners. That SUCKS. You’re a way nicer mommy than I am. I wouldn’t have the patience to hold Gage all day long in that same situation.
Sorry to hear about your little ones! Hope they are feeling better.. and your hair looks so cute.. I love curly hair.. but alas I was blessed with the Pin straight kind that holds nothing! Thanks so much for sharing with the Pink hippo party.. can’t wait to see what you share next!
