I’m feeling overwhelmed, as you would guess from the title of the post. I’m a procratinator. BIG TIME!! I’ve told you all the projects I’m making for Christmas presents for friends and family. Well, I have trimmed it down somewhat, but I still have a TON to do in the next 2-3 weeks!! I have started a few of them, but I just can’t pick which ones to focus on. I should probably work on the ones that need to be sent to family far away so they get their presents before Christmas this year! But I just don’t have the motivation to work on those presents right now. I want to work on the ones that don’t NEED to be done until Christmas Eve because I live with the person/people.
So, I need your help! What do you do when you need to be motivated to finish something important and on a deadline? I don’t think I’m a normal crafter. I need A LOT of motivation to finish one thing before starting another… Well, actually, maybe that is normal for a crafter…
Anyway, I’ve been working on a daily schedule to help me get motivated and to keep on task. I’m going to finish everything I need to in the next 3 weeks! Woohoo! Let’s do it! Here’s my daily schedule so far:
6:00 – Wake up, read the scriptures
6:30 – Wake up boys, get them ready, get myself ready, and drop off kids at school
8:30 – Start laundry/Switch laundry load
-Check email. Reply to anything needing to be taken care of immediately. (photography emails or other time consuming material)
9:00 – Do the household chore for the day
9:30 – Switch laundry load. Do the organizing chore for the day
(Depending on what my organizing chore is it could take a while to finish! So, the time after this is all hypothetical)
11:00 – Play/Read with Tinian
12:00 – Eat lunch
– Tinian down for a nap
1:00 – Blog, facebook time, email, any other stuff on the computer
2:00 – Sew, scrapbook, or any other craft project I’m working on.
3:00 – Pick boys up from school
– snack
– homework
– tidy up the house while the boys do their homework
4:00 – Prep for dinner
– set the table
5:00 – Eat dinner
– Do dishes and clean up kitchen
6:00 – bath time and reading time for the boys
– Prepare lunches and school work
8:00 – BEDTIME for boys
– Mark and Megan time:)
I might write up and print this out for myself and take it with me throughout the day to make sure I’m on track. I’ve never been good at keeping an hourly schedule! I was a lot better when I had all babies at home, but schedules have been hard to keep as they get older.
Wish me luck! I’ll be back tomorrow with my organizing post! Only 5 more weeks in this year! It’s time to gear up and get busy to finish out this year with a bang!
Thanks for stopping by!
Sometimes I just go ahead and do whatever sparks my interest first, then it makes doing the others easier to have the ones I am most excited about out of the way!
Oooh, I like that list. You’re such a good, good person. I wish we could hang out. I’m just over here hanging out in my own little world of pain. 🙂
