Ribbon Storage

My ribbons storage is driving me crazy. Since I opened my etsy shop, Crafty Meggy: Bows ‘n More, last year, my supply of ribbons has increased. I have seen so many ideas for ribbon storage and I’ve tried a few different things myself. Now that I’m moving into my own dedicated craft room I really want to come up with something that works better for me. I haven’t been using the ribbons as much lately, but I still want them to be organized and look nice in my room:)

This week I want to figure out a way that will keep me happy and organized, at least for a little while. I’m sure I will go through a lot of different ideas before I find the perfect one! I have an idea though. I’m not sure how well it will work, but it’s something; Mark and I took down our old bathroom mirror from upstairs because it was cheap and the fake wood started peeling off after I took off the tape from painting. I was thinking just now, as I was searching pinterest for ideas on ribbon storage, that I could take off the doors on the medicine cabinet and drill holes in the sides. I could then use dowels to hold the ribbon in place and just pull off and cut whatever I need to use.

Something like this, but I would tweak it to fit my needs.

I also saw this one that I really liked!

I told Mark about my idea and he mentioned that it might be annoying not to be able to pull off the whole thing of ribbon easily, if I wanted/needed to. I agreed and he told me that he saw a DVD shelf sort of like the one above at DI for maybe $10 last week. He said I should go check that out and see if it would work. So, I think I’ll do that, but I’m still keeping my options open. It would be nice to be able to grab the ribbon off the shelf.

I’ll let you know what I decide. This week is going to be a busy one!! I’m trying to finish up the bathroom and craft room at the same time, PLUS I have a photo shoot I have to still edit, not to mention I have a few sewing projects that need to get done this week!! *SIGH* Wish me luck!:)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a wonderful Sunday!
