Tuesday Tune-up

Good morning!! I hope you’re doing well!! I’m pretty good. My Monday went better than I thought and I got a lot done. Woohoo! Yay for progress! Today we’re going to talk about diets. Why? Well, because I really need to be on one and I’m not, but my friend has started a diet program with the shakes for meals and she has lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks!!! And she actually ENJOYS the shakes that she has to drink for 2 meals!! She says she looks forward to drinking them. WOW! That really impressed me that she likes them so much. Everyone always complains about how gross protein shakes are! I’ve tried a chocolate version a few times and I just couldn’t stomach it!

What diet is she on? It’s called TaiSlim and if I had the money I would totally do it! But it’s like $2-300 a month. And I’d have to give up a lot of my pleasures in life. I just don’t know how well I would do on a shake diet and I’m not willing to spend that much on something I’m not sure I can even stick with. But it is really appealing! I mean, 6 pounds in 2 weeks??!! Her goal was 1 pound a week, she has more than tripled that goal!! That is so awesome!!

My aunt did a diet called Iceology, I think. I tried looking it up but I couldn’t find anything about it so maybe I spelt it wrong. She has been a busy lady with a new job so I haven’t been able to talk to her about how it went. I did see her on the diet while we were in CA visiting in August. She didn’t like the shake so much and she also had to take a pill like thing that would curb her appetite. She said that was gross too. So, I definitely don’t want to spend my money on a yucky diet! lol I think it was about the same price as the TaiSlim.

What are you doing? Are you dieting or just eating healthy? I should really start by eating healthy. It’s so hard though because my kids are SUCH picky eaters that they don’t like to eat healthy stuff. We’ve been feeding them junk their whole lives so that’s what they like, well, ok, not really junk. We feed them healthy stuff, it’s just HARD to get them to eat it. *SIGH*

My workout routine is going ok. I’m still trying to run 3 days a week. I get really sore while I run, just in my calves. I wonder if I’m just not stretching enough? I’m not sure. I’ve been wanting to go to Zumba, but haven’t really had time to. I did go last night though. Yay! That was fun and gave me a good workout. I think I’m going to start going on Tuesday and Thursdays. I haven’t been taking Nemo for a walk and it’s such a hassle to do it with a stroller and Tinian. I think Zumba will be more fun and more exercise anyway.

So, that’s what has been on my mind lately. I really want to start losing weight. I have a friend that sells Doterra Essential oils and I’ve been considering starting to use them. I wonder if they help and I’m kinda curious to test them out myself. They have a diet program that my friend used after having her 2nd baby and she looks SO GOOD!! So, that’s another diet I’m thinking about. We’ll see which one I chose to do, if I do any of them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I thought I’d leave you with a song, since I haven’t done that in a while:

Have a great day!

  1. Hey megan…here’s my suggestion. Don’t waste your money on costly diets. I once knew someone who tried every diet out there and spent ridiculous amounts of money and still always struggled with her weight. Just be cautious of what you eat if you are trying to lose weight. The best advice I have is to pack lunches for yourself ahead of time that way when you get hungry you aren’t searching for something…I usually make the wrong choices when I get too hungry. I like to pack salads and other healthy alternatives ahead of time. Also you can make your own protein shakes if you want to try that, with fresh fruit and yogurt that taste so much better than canned or Orr packaged ones. I find that in the afternoons I usually want something sweet…so I pop a piece of gum in my mouth and chew on that instead of something full of calories…it usually curbs the craving. And never ever ever drink anything that isn’t diet…sodas and fruit juices are full of sugar and calories so if you can’t drink diet, just have water instead. And I LOVE Zumba…I do that 4 days week with Pilates 2 days a week, and elliptical and weights the other 3. You don’t need a diet if you are careful! Good luck Megan…this works for me!

    1. You are right, I do need to eat better. I’ve noticed that chewing gum curbs my appetite too so I should start doing that. Thanks for the advice!:)
