Hello scrapbookers!! I have a new layout up tonight that I made last month for Get it Scrapped. Make sure to check out the blog post here to see the other layouts the design team made.

My assignment for this layout was to create a page using journaling in a creative way. I used to do this all the time when I was a digi scrapper, but I have gotten away from it as a paper scrapper. I don’t know why. At first I was going to incorporate my title into my journaling, which is how I did it when I made digital layouts, but I ultimately came out with the layout you see above.

For the title I decided to emphasis the word “BIG” with a tall alpha in a different color. I really like how this turned out!

I matted the two photos on black paper to help them pop off the white background. This worked out great because the patterned paper also had a lot of white. I accented the banners with some black stitching to help them also have a little bit of added texture and pop.

The other creative way I changed up my journaling was to use ephemera words in my journaling. I love how this just make the journaling more meaningful. You can tell what my emotions were about us being able to go to this BIG family reunion.
