Happy New Year!

I wanted to get on and wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope you had a great night celebrating! My husband and I took it easy, pj’s, watching an anime TV show, cheese and crackers with some bubbly cider, and went to bed around 11:30? I did fall asleep on the couch for about 45 minutes before we actually went up to bed. The kids went to bed at their normal time without a problem, which was nice. My oldest did ask to stay up, but we wanted some time just the two of us. Are we mean parents? We’ve never really celebrated New Years Eve. A new year is great, but staying up until midnight with kids who DO NOT sleep in no matter what time they go to bed does NOT sound like a fun New Years Day to me!!

Anyway, I blogged about my New Year Resolutions yesterday and I’m excited to get started on those. I thought I would outline some of my other goals that I have for this year as well, but I didn’t want to classify them as New Year Resolutions.

Crafty Goals:

If you’ve been following me for a while you know that last year I did a sewing challenge for myself and I reached it! 🙂 You can read about it HERE and HERE. This year my craft goal is to get caught up on scrapbooking. I’m really behind and it drives me crazy!! I am still stuck in 2007 and my goal is to get to my birthday (April 29th) of 2008 before my birthday this year. Did that make sense? lol I’m going to start doing Project Life this year and I have been building up my PL stash and I also signed up for the Project Life Studio Calico monthly kit. I have enjoyed all the variety in projects. I’ve stopped buying Becky Higgins’ kits and will probably start making my own cards from now on. It’s just cheaper and that is GOOD!!

Currently I am still scrapbooking 2007, I’m in October so I’m ALMOST done with it! Yay! Once I get done doing the last months of 2007 I’m going to fully concentrate on doing only PL albums, with a little twist. I won’t do the “norm” for PL albums. I hate the idea of scrapbooking by the week. I like to scrapbook by the event, since I take so many pictures and I can never just chose a couple! I’m excited to get started with it! I’ve done a couple pages and have enjoyed it, but once I get to 2008 I’m going to try to keep it simple. I’ve been doing a lot of embellishing on my pages lately, but they take up a LOT of room so I need to cut back a bit.

I haven’t really thought about other craft goals besides that. I know that I want to finish scrapbooking 2008 this year and move onto 2009, and even possibly get halfway through 2009! We’ll see how that goes:)
I also want to have my holiday projects done well before the holiday so that I won’t feel stressed about getting them done and also so I can blog about them. And I want to quilt 3 Mario Brothers blankets for my boys for Christmas. I think this one will be a year long process, so I’m going to start it this weekend. Since it’s going to be a surprise for them I’ll only be able to work on them at night or while they’re at school. I’m sure this will be hard for me to keep it hidden from them, but I’m excited to get started!!

Fitness Goals:

This year I am going to lose 40 lbs and keep it OFF!! I joined a gym and I signed up for the My Fitness Pal app to help me keep track of my calories. Right now I probably consume about 2500 calories a day, give or take. To lose weight I’ve read you want to only eat 1400 calories a day and when I put my info into the app it said that my actual calorie intake needs to be 1280!! YIKES!! That’s HALF of what I normally eat!! HALF!! Sooooo, I’m gonna take it slow. I’m going to take it 500 calories at a time. The first month I’ll take out 305 calories each week until I get down to 1280. It will take 4 weeks and I’m hoping that will help make it a little easier and not so over whelming.

So, my calorie intake for the next week will be 2195. I’ll keep you update on how I do. You should download the app if you count calories and haven’t yet. It make it so much easier, so I’ve heard.

Blog Goals:

I have some blog goals that I wanted to meet in 2013 and the year just got away from me. This year I want to complete those goals for sure!

1. Write up 10 back up posts for busy times of year.

2. Make my holiday projects well in advance and write up posts to be scheduled.

3. Find a blog planner that works for me and use it and stick to it! 🙂

Etsy Goals:

I have an Etsy shop, did you know that?! If you didn’t head over there and check it out. I don’t really do a whole lot with it, but I want to start selling more this year. I started it about 2 or 3 years ago, (yeah, I can’t even remember, ugh! that’s how bad my memory is), and I haven’t really had a whole lot of time to focus on it and really advertise, but I want to do that more this year. I want to start sewing more and putting items in my shop.

Do you have something in particular you are looking for? I’d love to make a custom order for you!! Just contact me through my shop and tell me what you need! I don’t really make bows a whole lot anymore, but I still have a lot of stuff for it so I might make some more and sell it as a big lot this year. I’m not sure what to do with it all now! I’m more into sewing and crafting these days than making bows and I don’t have girls of my own so I can’t use them. I guess I’ll figure something out.

That’s it on the 2014 goals front. What are you planning on accomplishing this year? I’d love to hear all about it!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great first day of the new year!
