Well, I am on my way back home to Idaho today. I’m sad to be leaving my family. It’s been a lot of fun playing and hanging out and talking!!! It was also wonderful for my sister and my kids to FINALLY meet!!:) So, I thought I would start getting back to my normal blogging schedule before I get home and don’t feel like doing anything, especially unpacking!!:P
You all know I’ve been working on a special sewing project. I wanted it to be a surprise for you all so I’ve been giving you glimpses every now and then. WELLLLLL, now that I’m all done and it’s in the owners hands I can Finally reveal it to you!:) I’m very excited about this!! My first sewing project:
My favorite part of the dress is the bottom!! I LOVE the tule that I found at JoAnn’s for about $1.97 on sale!! I bought a 1/4 yard and used it all on this dress, except for a teeny little piece I used on an extra little girls shirt that I put a flower on:
What do you think? It was kind of winging it because I just wanted to get it done and didn’t feel like looking up what to do. I think it turned out a lot cuter than I pictured it in my mind!!:)
I am loving the ruffled look!! I really hope the person gifted it LOVES it!!
Are you surprised I pick a little girls dress? I had a bow that I madeĀ and really wanted to give it to my neice for her birthday so making a dress for her made more sense right now. Remember the photo from pinterest that I got my idea from?
I really like that I made mine different. When my mom and I sat down to get it done we decided different sized layers would be easier and we both love how it looks!! The shirt on the dress is actually pink. I needed to take a better picture of it, but I’m limited to my cell phone camera right now so hopefully my Sister will take a better picture and post it on her blog so I can post it here. I will also post a picture of my niece in it when she sends me that!:)
So, that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I hope your craft projects are going well too!!

Aw, cute, Megs!! Good job! I think you have a knack for sewing, for sure. Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch should get you a sewing machine for your birthday. I’m thinking of getting you sewing scissors, unless you’ve gone and gotten yourself some already.
Great job on your first sewing project! I love the tule too! Thanks for linking up! Hope to see you again this Wednesday!
That is sooo cute! and I love any way to use up scraps…this would be perfect!
Thanks for linking it up @ Creatively Living!
