Hello friends! I am back with a couple new goals this week!! I’m excited to tell you I was able to keep up with my goal of drinking 3 bottles of water a day, every single day last week. Woohoo!! This week I’m going to up it to 4 bottles of water. Let’s DO this! 🙂
When you’re trying to figure out how much water you need in one day, I read somewhere that you divide your body weight by 2 to find out how many ounces you should be drinking. I don’t remember where I read that and I can’t seem to find it now, sorry, but I did find a hydration calculator on about.com. Right now I weigh 165 lbs , so the calculator said I should be drinking 91.5 ounces a day. WOW!! That’s a lot, about 11-12 glasses!! If you do the divide my weight by 2 method, it’s only 82.5 ounces, which would be between 10 and 11 cups a day. So, I will be working my way up to drinking 12 cups of water a day. The more you drink the more weight you lose.
I found some tips on about.com about how people make sure they’re drinking enough water. It was good stuff! What I have started to do is always make sure I have a full water bottle in the fridge. I like my water cold, it tastes better to me. I fill up 2 bottles before bed and put them in the fridge. That way, once I finish the first bottle I just pull out the other one that’s already cold and put the other one in the fridge for that water to get cold. I continue this throughout the day and it is so much easier this way than filling up a cup each time. Each water bottle I drink is 2 cups of water, so I’m halfway to my goal of 12 cups!
I didn’t accomplish my goal of getting up at 6 to workout, BUT I did workout Mon-Wed, just not at 6! I’m beginning to realize that I can’t wake up early to workout. I like my sleep too much. So, my goal this week is to workout at 8:30 for an hour after taking the kids to school. I did Zumba on the Wii yesterday for 45 minutes and it felt great! After Zumba I did a cardio routine and 80 crunches. I’m SOOOO sore today, but thats good, right? My younger sister always says she Loves feeling the burn and being sore after a good workout. I’ve always thought she was crazy, but I guess I can understand a teensy little bit. At least you know you’re doing something good for your body.
Here are my goals for this week:
Fitness – Workout for 1 hour 5 days a week.
Diet – Drink 4 bottles of water a day.
I realize that the diet goal isn’t that much more, but, remember, we want to set accomplishable goals so that we win and don’t fail and get discouraged. I am going to keep up with this idea and keep my goals easy peasy!
What are your workout goals for this week? I would love to hear any advice you have for me on losing weight or making fitness goals!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
