The Crafty Maven Getaway National Scrapbook Day YouTube Hop: My Scrap Space On The Go

Hello again my crafty and scrappy friends!! I am back with what I think is the last post of the day!! This weekend has been super busy and I never got a chance to get these blog posts up so I am bombarding you with them today.

Saturday, May 7th was (inter)National Scrapbook Day and some of the members of the Crafty Maven Getaway Design Team did a little YouTube hop. Hannah challenged us to make layouts based on scrapbooking. Since I recently went on a scrapbook retreat I immediately knew I was going to scrapbook the pictures I took of my little space at the retreat.

While I was at the retreat I won a CUTE collection from the Close to my Heart consultant hosting the retreat called “Charlotte”. I don’t think it’s available anymore, unfortunately, because if it was I would totally go buy more of it!! I absolutely LOVED playing with this collection!! I had already used some of it, but decided to use up some more to make this layout. I’m so glad I did!

This is my finished layout and I absolutely LOVE it!! I know it’s not very embellishment heavy, but I am really not a big embellisher in the first place so it worked out well.

I used a kraft doily from my stash to add a little more texture and interest to the bottom of the layout.

I also put a doily up in the top right hand corner along with a few more embellishements. I got the pink scissors from an old Amy Tangerine sticker book and it worked perfect on this layout! The pink was a little bit more bright than the papers in the collection, but it didn’t bother me. I knew that this would probably be one of the only times I’d need pink scissors on a layout so I was ok using it up.

The cute little ‘sweet’ embellishment is from the Maggie Holmes ‘Shine’ collection, which I absolutely LOVE!! I added a few enamel dots to the cluster and it was done.

For the journaling I used another sticker from that same Amy Tangerine sticker sheet that the scissors came from. I kept the journaling straight and to the point. I really didn’t need to say a whole lot. I used some stickers from a Close to my Heart puffy sticker collection as well as a sticker piece from those 3D embellishments like the one above.

This ‘LOVE’ card was a 3×4 cut apart sheet of paper that I just cute down to be more focused on the word.

Here you can see the title at a closer view with the photos and the clusters. I did actually change up the way the title looks after I took these photos. I just really didn’t like having the word ‘Scrap’ and ‘Space’ off set like I have them here. I moved them both over and now they’re right on top of each other.

You can watch the process video below or find it HERE on my YouTube channel.
