Hello my crafty friends! I hope you’re having a good week so far! Mine is going pretty good! I’m excited to share this post with you about mine and Hannah’s homemade kit series.
First off, I want to share all 3 layouts that I made this month with my first kit:
This is the first layout I made with the kit. You can find the blog post about it here. This layout is probably my favorite one that I made from this kit. I think my favorite part is that the photos are black and white and all the colors from the room aren’t’ interfering with the rest of the colors on the layout. A page like this makes me want to print all my photos in black and white!
My second layout was inspired by a page that nicolejones911 made. I really love the angled strips I put on the top and bottom. I used paint to make the splatters, which I don’t often do, but I love how they turned out!
The third and final layout and I really love it. I wanted to use this background paper, but the photo I picked was of my baby boy so I felt like the flowers were a little too over powering so I added some gesso to it. I used up a lot of the paper scraps I created while using this kit, which made me super happy! I hate having tons of scraps! They all fit perfectly and it worked out great! I really love the layers on this layout.
Ok, so, that was the layouts I made with my first kit. You can find the kit share here if you want to see what it looked like before I dug into it to make these layouts.
For the month of May Hannah and I decided to use a paper called Memento by Maggie Holmes from her new collection called “Shine”.
I am absolutely in love with this collection, even more than I thought I would be! I actually put a lot of papers and embellishments from the “Shine” collection into this kit and that really surprised me!
Here’s the recipe we used to make this kit:
- a geometric paper
- texture pattern (ie. woodgrain, fabric, brick, etc)
- Stripe
- Freebie pattern of our choice
- 6×6 piece paper (I decided to use a bit bigger scrap piece of paper and 2 of them instead of 1 ;P)
And here are the embellishments we decided to use this month for the kit:
- cut file
- chipboard
- stamp set
- washi tape
- tags
- Sticker sheet
- die cuts/ embellishment pack
- enamel dots
- free embellishment
- 2 Alphas (Thickers, etc)
So, here are the photos of my kit:
This is the whole kit together. I used my cell phone for the pictures, which I will NOT do again! lol I should’ve known the quality would be bad, so I apologize about that!
This is the Thickers, chipboard, embellishments and stickers I’m going to be using.
These are my papers. I’m so excited to dive in and use this kit!!
And here are all the embellishments from the pack I’m using spread out.
