For The Love Of Homemade Kits: Layout #3

Hello my scrappy friends!! I hope you’re having a great Wednesday! I have another homemade kit layout for you today and this one I kept very simple! There isn’t even a title on this one, I just didn’t feel like it needed it. Sometimes a layout doesn’t call for a title. I’ve done it quite a few times. My reasoning behind that decision was that I took a lot of photos on this day, which was my sons 2nd birthday so I figured the other layouts I make with those photos can have title and this one would be okay without one.

This is my finished layout. I actually used a recipe for this layout over the NSD weekend, but then realized I didn’t follow the recipe so I used it as my layering challenge layout entry for Victoria Marie’s facebook challenge on Mother’s Day over the NSD weekend.

I used a lot of chipboard from the Maggie Holmes Confetti collection on this layout. I put the banner up there in the middle of the branding strips at the top because there was a hole in the middle of that yellow paper that I needed to cover up. It looks a little random, but I really love how it turned out!

I did some more clustering with the chipboard and some pieces of ephemera that I put in this kit.

I really love this little cluster I put down in the bottom right hand corner. Since the photos are of making a cake and my son licking off the Wall-e figure we put on the cake I wanted to use up this cake chipboard piece. It looks a little more weddding cake-ish, but I’m ok with that! A cake is a cake, right?

I did some splattering in the top left and bottom right hand corners of the layout. I also outlined the paper layers behind the photo.

You can watch my process video below, or click on the YouTube icon in the bottom right hand corner to watch it on YouTube. Thanks for stopping by today!! I’ll be back next week with TWO layouts from this kit. I had enought papers and embellishments left over that I got 5 layouts out of this kit. That makes me so happy!

I hope you have a great scrappy week!
